small update: I think he's declawed. He started trying to knead the cushion and nothing happened.

I feel so bad for him them. I used to be for declawing cats back before I liked them. No I am 100% against it. Especially if it is going to be an outdoor cat. If he is really declawed, you should honestly catch him and give him to Brianeack. I know Braineack has been wanting a new one.

I thought the same thing. We had a kitten walk up in the yard a few years ago and we took him in. He was to be an indoor cat. We had his fixed and declawed and the works. One year later he up and decides he doesn't want to use his litter box anymore and "yowls" at the back door to go out. Against my wife i let him out, now he comes and goes as he please and will scratch at the door to go out and come in. I know it is not an ideal situation with no claws but we didn't know.

^^ That would be awfully cruel of the owners to let their cat wander around outside if it has truly been declawed.

If he really is declawed (and it looks like he is), it would be a crime for you not to take him in.

Shiva (10lbs) has taken up wrestling Nimbus (14lbs) quite often.
She's almost a year old... and still growing like a weed.

Looks like my dreams of having a cat that was as large as the GF's dog is coming true.

Even our indoor cats were never declawed. That's a messed up thing to do.

I've always cut our cats' claws. They hate it, but expect it.

Anyone ever try these for indoor cats who are prone to destructive scratching? SoftPaws.com - Nail Caps for Cats and Dogs

I can't quite make up my mind as to whether they'd be needlessly cruel or not...

detractors of the claw caps claim they hinder the cat's ability to retract their claws and end up resulting in a worse situation than when you started.

but alas:

he is not my cat

he may not even have claws

We put those nail caps on our cats for a couple of months. They didnt seem to cause any discomfort, but the one cat liked to pull them off and eat them, so we ended up just getting more cat trees.. lol

My next door neighbors went on vacation for 2 weeks. They enlisted the help of the neighbor girls across the street to care for their cat. Friday night, the cat did not come in, and no amount of calling helped. Saturday, the girls and some of the other kids went around looking for the cat. Searching continued all day long, but no one saw her.

Saturday evening, just before vacationing family returned home, father of the girls found the cat in the garden. Unfortunately, dead. No signs of trauma or distress at all. Girls are completely distraught. Young sons of the owner are fairing only slightly better. Mother is most upset of all.

This is the third cat from the same litter that has gone missing. First two were never found. I think this means that the cats from this litter all have a heart defect, which I have been reading is not all that uncommon. Sucks for all involved, though.

Silly haircut kitty is silly.

One of my cousins who lives in NM has a giant long haired orange~ish cat that they have to get shaved in the summer so it does not die in the heat. Last year they got him a "lion cut" and it was pretty epic. I've emailed him and asked for pics

Not his cat, but you get the idea:

Cats would try to rip your arms off if you did that wouldn't they? Oh the indignation!
