Does she try to go for the stitches? my girl didnt even need to wear a cone because she didnt try to bite the stitches.

I have made thatlast trip to the vet and know how hard is, how torn one is between doing the rightthing for them and wanting to keep them just a few more days... these little ones sure brighten our lives, and are sorely missed when they leave us 😞
My condolences for you and your family

For every adopted stray that passes, hopefully another stray finds home.

I has a sad. One of my kitties has been MIA since early yesterday morning. He's chipped and the wife & son put out posters, but so far no word.

(Some kitties love wurst, some hate it. I have never found a correlation.)

We left my father in law in charge of the kitties when my grandma died a few years ago. We were hours away and he calls us in panic, thinking one got out. We immediately went defcon 5 and had a search party lined up. Never felt so helpless being hours away. Turns out shit head was under the sofa the whole time.

Marked pose of a content cat. Both my boys do that.

I regret to inform you that Gadget has been found, dead. He was 3 houses away, in a small fenced area at the front of an empty house for sale. There are no marks on his body indicating he was attacked by anything. He may have been hit by a car, but I really can’t tell. He will be buried next to his brother, who died of acute kidney failure several years ago.

R.I.P. little buddy.

So sorry to hear that.
Seems like there's been way too much sad kitty news here lately.
RIP Gadget.

I'm sorry, Roger.

Hard enough to lose em when they're old, with a good, long life behind. So much worse when he's in his prime.

I agree. Sorry to both of you. When the day comes when one of ours crosses the mt.net kitty bridge, I already have in my mind we will save another. Ours have had a much better life than most, especially harley, whom was rescued from the streets.

There will be another rescue kitty in my life sometime in the future. Right now, I need time to let my heart heal a bit.

:(

My ex-wife texted me recently to tell me the kitty I got for her almost a decade has been diagnosed with diabetes and has lost half his body weight over the last few months.

rleete Apr 17, 2017 01:09 PM

Update: after talking to the vet, she said that it was very possible that Gadget suffered heart failure. She was concerned at last visit (2 weeks ago) because of a pronounced heart murmur, and his age (~12 years).

Naturally, I have been missing my kitty. The other guy we have is much more attached to my wife than me, and this weekend my wife suggested we might look into getting another rescue.
So, we spent Saturday morning searching the web and looking at the various cats available. Being a holiday weekend, most places were not holding viewings, but one place close to us was.
Since we had to contact the vet to tell her about our loss, we decided to stop in because it was close by.

We get there, and they have a grand total of 4(!) cats. 2 were very battle scared feral rescues (both missing ears, one half blind), and not very friendly. Neither would respond to petting/scratching more than just tolerating it. One was scared to death, hiding under the bedding and visibly shaking.
But the fourth guy was a treasure. Big tabby, super affectionate; couldn't get enough attention. Tried to climb into my arms when the door was opened so I could pet him. Obviously a good candidate.

Then the church lady says that because our other cat is indoor/outdoor, we would be refused. But fill out an application online. For what? So you can get all smug and self righteous about turning us down? What the hell is it with these people that they think a prison is a better life than being able to go in and out as they please?

I just tell the shelter that they will be indoor kitties and leave it at that.

I'm expecting to start my annual kitten hunt soon.
A few barn cats are looking rather plump.
