Literally. And the cat’s name is Slim. Slim’s owners packed her in their checked bag. While this could have been extremely dangerous for the 6-month old cat, Slim is just fine and is currently residing under the care of the Humane Society of Northwestern Pennsylvania. … No worries though if you’d like to travel with your pets. Here’s how! … Checkpoint Screening: … Check with your airline first to inquire about any fees and policies. … Your pet will need to be screened via checkpoint screening if it’s traveling with you in the cabin of the plane. … We do not X-ray pets. However, there have been many occasions where passengers have assumed their pet needed to go through the X-ray. You can imagine the surprise of the X-ray operator when they see Fluffy’s skeleton roll across their monitor. It is not an unusual occurrence. Your pet will need to come out of its carrier, so it is a good idea to know how your pet will react. Many a cat has gone into a feline frenzy after being removed from its carrier. An angry cat is never a good thing. … Even if your travel is “off the leash,” you should strongly consider keeping your pet on a leash. The checkpoint is a noisy environment that can cause your pet to flee at its first opportunity. This happens with humans occasionally as well. Your pet can be carried through the walk through metal detector or walked through on leash. If your pet triggers an alarm, one of our officers will have to take a closer look. Pets are not screened with the body scanners. … Checked Baggage: … If your pet is traveling in a kennel, your airline will arrange for a TSA Officer to screen the kennel. Officers will need to inspect your kennel/carrier for prohibited items with you present. Sometimes this can be done visually, but it’s good to have a leash handy in case the officer asks you to remove your pet from the carrier.

A post shared by TSA (@tsa) on Jan 11, 2018 at 12:34pm PST

Did you choose your cats to match your home décor, or vice versa? ;)

Braineack Jan 23, 2018 08:33 AM

started with belle...matched the others to her color.

Dropped off Abby at Radiocat today. Along with all my money. Pick her up on Thursday in my bunnysuit. She'll be midly radioactive for a couple weeks.

damn I learned something

It’s true. A single injection of Radioiodine (I-131) cures 98-99%
of Feline Hyperthyroidism cases without any adverse side effects

Me, too. Had no idea such a thing even existed.

Please keep us updated. My wife and I are considering this vs the pen meds.

My cats pretty great and all as long as it doesn't involve much more then this. This thing on the other hand looks like the stealthy songbird destroyer my house really needs, talk about cutest little death machine on four legs!

Finally, a long term cure.
Many good cats ago I wished for a better way.

I miss Manny and am sad for his struggle so many years ago. He was a good boy.

y8s Feb 13, 2018 10:28 AM

just a few years ago, Abby was a tubby fatso at 12 lbs. I was told she needed to lose weight. She was slowly coming down and then her thyroid went haywire and at last weigh-in, she was under 9. We first learned about the thyroid issue last summer.

Check out her weight history.

Code:

3/28/2013 11.50
10/4/2013 10.80
7/17/2014 11.50
7/25/2014 11.00
2/3/2015 10.00
7/23/2015 10.00
8/21/2016 10.10
6/12/2017 9.62
12/23/2017 9.25
2/3/2018 8.94

Anyway, she's a pain to pill (I bleed) and she's already on special high fiber big poop food, so I can't change her to the medicated food. This was an easy choice.

The hardest part is her shivvering and yowls for the first 10 minutes of the drive to the treatment center.
