Can you sedate them?
|
Vets tend to recommend not sedating unless theres some form of medical concern... the cats did the trip last year and were super freaked out but also recovered super quickly. We were more traumatised than they were lets be honest

That doesn't sound good at all... was the sedating meant to be an ongoing thing or just for a little bit?

Well they’re here and mostly hiding but come out to do the occasional slink around the new digs. This house has flyscreens and floor to ceiling glass windows and doors so they’ve got much more outside views and noise than they’re used to... probably a bit overstimulated right now :crx: Got two of them in the carriers this morning easy. Jigen was hiding in the bathroom and when I brought him out to the hall and he saw the carriers he flipped out all claws and panic. He escaped into the bedroom and tried to disappear up a chimney... it was a good thing I caught him in time as I wouldn’t have been able to get him out of there. :bigtu: Apologies if photos are huge or dumb I’ve uploaded direct via mobile site version. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...71544e807.jpeghttps://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...f09222d52.jpeg |
I'm having difficulty believing that the box in the first photo holds 120 cubic meters. Does geometry work differently in Australia than in north America?
|
Hell yeah Joe they are new tech! Those few boxes you see pretty much held all our stuff! Last year the movers were all angsty because they had so many book boxes and wheels and computer stuff and tools and car parts and more books and more wheels and that the whole container was full... this time round super breezy. :bowrofl: |
I also love the fact that "This way up" is printed at the absolute bottom of the box. You Aussies really are a strange lot... :giggle:

Drove through the outback to Brisbane last week.
I Airbnb'd a place to stay overnight in Broken Hill because the owner said she has a cat! Elly is a very small very friendly cat. Within 20 seconds of entering the house she was on my lap and pretty much wanted to be attached for the duration of my stay. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...160305d056.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...3967fe1d64.jpg Back in Brisbane, the three blacksicles are pretty much settled. They like the windows. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...5ddfeece68.jpg Had Jigen at the vet the other day due to lots of excessive coughing and some difficulty breathing. Looks like its proper asthma so he's going to be on a kitty puffer from now on. |

Today was this guy's last day. He has been having thyroid and kidney issues for several months that we have been treating. A couple of weeks ago he lost his appetite and we were given an appetite stimulant to give him. I left for an FSAE competition and he seemed okay but when I came back yesterday my girlfriend had already taken him to the ICU. He hadn't eaten in 3 days and didn't have the energy to even stand anymore. He refused to eat and treatment wasn't working to keep his kidneys in check. We said our final goodbyes this morning and had him put to sleep. He passed away on my lap. I'm torn. |
