Zero respiratory reaction, after about 30 minutes in the room, waiting for the cats to explore me. That's a huge win. Very mild skin reaction (aside from a few claw-wounds) after they started to take interest. But, on the very down-side, a rather severe reaction after I deliberately rubbed my right eye at the one-hour mark. (I purposely avoided any antihistamine medications during this trial.) So, not sure what this portends. According to the nurse* who jabs me in the arm every two weeks, I'm at the maximum "maintenance" dosage. Have an appointment scheduled with the doc on Thursday, to discuss whether this is as good as it's going to get, or if we have stronger options. * = relax, she's married, and also not my type. Also, this reminds me that I need to make a followup with the "Joints and connecting tissue" doc. My left knee is still in pretty ragged shape. |
As someone who has been on allergy sublingual drops for a few years, you will continue to see Improvement as you continue to desensitize your system. By the way, injections are very passe and ridiculously time-consuming. See if you can find a doctor who uses the sublingual drop method instead. It's the way many of the Europeans have been doing it for years.

Poor kitty isn't feeling good, any time she won't even eat a treat i get worried.

I did a bit of research before committing, and there seems to be universal consensus that the injection method offers a greater level of efficacy, especially in severe cases, and remains the gold standard for treatment. |

Yeah they go outside, but only while supervised. She's been bouncing around today pretty good. Doesn't have a meow, but ate and is moving well. So that's a plus.
Maybe i'll get her outside later and let her eat some grass. 95% of the time either cats eat grass they throw it up about an hour later. Which from what i understand is normal. |

I take my cat for fecal extraction about a week after we go on vacation. Every time. She never gets lethargic, but she can't eat (just barfs) and doesn't poop because of anxiety. She's 15 and though she and the vets hate physically removing her doodoo, she responds well and is usually eating and pooping like a bear a day later.

Our other cat had a growth on his large intestine that was a bit of a heartbreaker. |

Sounds to me like intestinal issues. Is your kitty indoor/outdoor? If not, make a small (1 square foot is plenty) grass plot. They need the roughage that commercial food does not provide. My cats spend many hours grazing my lawn.

We feed our cats the special raw food or other raw meat meant for human consumption that has some taurine and stuff added we just sprinkle on top. We were tired of our loveable kitties and dogs dying of tumors and cancers and awful things. The last straw was talking with a neighbor who was working as an auditor of some sort and had to go to a rendering plant where pet foods were manufactured. He said the stench was unbearable and that they were cooking down and pelletizing what was collected from grease traps into pet food. There is so little control that goes into even what are considered to be the best pet foods. Manufacturers are legally allowed to use deceased and diseased animals in pet food and not disclose this information.
Cats aren't supposed to eat grains. They are carnivores and they are designed to eat the nutrient-rich innards of prey animals. Since switching diets, our cats have quit shedding fur, are not fighting with being overweight all the time, and our old dog stopped having allergies and having bare spots where the hair was thinning. |
I completely and whole-heartedly agree. I'm glad to hear that you feed your kittehs the proper food they deserve. Dump and Box are reaching 10 this year, and other than the snafu with Mailbox deciding to swallow a whole chicken wing, it's been smooth sailing and healthy, bratty kitties. They eat primarily wet and raw.

Cook for them yourself once a week. Use some liver from chicken or beef to give them the taurine they need.

I recently became a cat person. What happened was, my wife's best friend was dating this guy who had a few dogs and cats. He had to find homes for all the animals cause he was moving. My daughter was asking for a cat for like 2 years, and I've been pretty firm about no cats. Wife comes home from work and goes "hey %$&#*'s boyfriend wants to give us a cat," I'm like "NOPE". She goes, "It's a 3 year old neutered Maine Coon." I'm like "YUP". So they pretty much dropped the cat off and ran, which was odd...like no "hey buddy, good luck on your new life." Pretty much "here ya go, bye". Needless to say, this guy is AWESOME. He's loving, fun, self sufficient...everything I could've ever wanted in a cat. He's a great addition to our family.
