^^^^awesome^^^^

I was adamant about not getting a kitty.....until we got our first. Now up to 3 and love it.

They shed a lot less if you don't feed them cat food but real meat. They are carnivores. It made a huge difference in shedding with ours. Make sure to occasionally include liver so they get the taurine they need to survive. Don't be afraid of raw meat. They aren't as sensitive as humans and it is good to vary types of meat they eat.

I want you to know that I haven't visited this thread in a few days, so I missed the whole "feline dietary guidance" stuff.

I clicked into it, and saw your post, except I read it as "Cook them for yourself once a week."

A friend of mine once had a poodle which had learned to open doors. It was disquieting to say the least.

I came across this historical photo earlier, and I suspect it may have been doctored. I mean, have you ever tried to light a pipe while riding a scooter? I have. It's unpossible.

It's also quite difficult to strike a lighter or even a match without opposable thumbs.

My pictures above we're with the 3a. You really can tell the difference with not having that proprietary photo processor.

Also lighting too.

RIP grumpy cat. I trust that she found even death to be an annoyance.

I just saw that. Sad day indeed.

Mustafa the Mustache (garbage cat), dreams of being able to play him a sweet ballad to the afterlife. When I work from home, he always sits in my "office" with me. Yes, it was also my idea for my girlfriend to find him a collar with a bow tie.

One of the cats didn't come in tonight. I went to bed anyway; woke up to cats howling in the yard. Got up to find mine and next door cat facing off. After chasing the neighbor cat off a few yards, I went over to mine to pick him up and carry him in.

Whereupon, he turned on me and tore the shit out of me. He became this snarling ball of claws and teeth and pain.

I seriously may need stitches for at least one deep cut (web of hand between thumb and forefinger), and probably antibiotics for a couple of deep bite punctures.

And now the little fucker is back inside, and purring away as I type this.

I definitely recommend going in to have them look at the bites. Had to take a friend to the ER once when a cat bite had gotten infected.

I had to say goodbye to my best mate this afternoon.

20 years strong before the poor guy's kidneys gave up on him.

Poor guy had a rough start, when he was about 2 some prick threw him over the fence of the RSPCA (animal adoption agency here in Aust), but my gf picked him out and gave him an amazing home for 8 years before I came along and we both gave him 10 more.
The little guy's had a warm bed every night, moved across the country, and he's even been at the top of the food chain (I cooked up and fed that little guy crocodile one time! how many cats can say they've eaten a damn croc!)

Sad to see him gone, but glad he isnt suffering anymore.

Hug your cats tight guys.
Life isn't permanent, make the most of the time you have.

:(

Truly sorry to hear that. It's always tough when we lose a family member.
