I have a modest 5 cats

my bitch has a very sweet, affectionate 4-month old kitten she's trying to give away for the cost of her spaying. This cat is pretty baller and sweet, she loves people. PM me if you want it and know how to treat an animal.

Not to your door, per se. You have to pick it up at the freight office of your nearest airport, just like if you're shipping regular counter-to-counter freight such as DeltaDash, SWAC, etc.

Most (or at least, many) commercial airlines do in fact offer shipment services for live animals. In addition, there are a couple of freight expediters who specialize in arranging animal shipments. I genuinely am saddened by the fact that Allerca seems to be a scam. (And yet surprised that despite all of the bad press I've read, they do still seem to exist, at least in name.) I first found out about them a couple of years ago, and truthfully, was pretty psyched about the fact that I might finally be able to have a cat in the house full-time. The basic science of the idea is sound (selective breeding to eliminate the genetic marker for Fel d 1 protein secretion) but it would appear that, as of this point, nobody has actually succeeded in taking the idea to the production stage.


As it stands, I need to find a Russian Blue or Siberian breeder and see if I can spend some quality time exposing myself to their dams.

Kingsmark Bengals & Serengeti Cats

Huh. I'd heard of Bengals, but I never realized that they were one of the lower-allergen breeds.

Only reason I don't have a cat is I'm allergic. Never diagnosed, but I can't pet them w/o remembering to wash my hands. If not and I somehow touch my face, I need to find the benedryl fast! Sneezing, itchy runny eyes and nose. Helps clear the sinus I guess.


All you cat people have any suggestions? I'm not home enough to really have a dog. In summer I'm only home the 6 hours I need to sleep +/- 2 or 3.

Would love a pet but I live alone and figured my "budget friendly" thermostat settings wouldn't be too kind to a pet. Currently, it's 49*F in here... and yes, I'm insane. Last summer when I moved in I ran the A/C a few times, but generally the temp is somewhere in the 80's inside w/ windows open.

Would a cat find a warm place and just deal w/ it, or is that torture?

49* is nothing for a cat, honestly, just make sure it has a bed to curl up on. Its the wind/snow that would actually hurt the thing. We have had 3 strays brought in in the winters here in fargo, ND, one during feburary, so it was living for a few weeks in - temps.

As for our cat, we do keep the t-stat off during the day, but we have amazing insulation, so the temp is at least 55+ in the winter. The heat will be an issue more than anything, but 80 isn't too bad.

I would just get the cat a bed, and put it somewhere comfy, maybe a couch or something. Our cat loves hers.
