WRITE YOUR OWN LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION AND GO TO THE OFFICE AND HAVE THE DUDE SIGN IT. I've been laid off before and told I would get a recommendation and was blackballed instead when my prospective employer called them for a reference..

Damn dude, sorry to hear that. But like everyone else said, keep your head up and keep on top of looking for a new job and you'll be fine.

Goodluck man!

Very sorry to hear that you lost your job. I had the unfortunate experience to see a good person go due to funding cuts. :(

Check out USAjobs.com. Pretty sure I saw a few federal pharmacy positions last time I was on there.

Thanx guys

Sent out resume's today, as well as filled out applications at 2 hospitals as well as the local health net branch. I WILL take it easy and not rush into a shitty job like you guys recommend. This last one was awesome (except for the laid off part) and I waited 2 months for it to open up.

I'm all for taking advantage of the situation as long as unemployment money will cover your life expenses for the most part. Enjoy your time off and find something better.
Goodluck in the job hunt.

Another thing you might want to do is to take a college class in the evening to account for the time between jobs with something that's useful. Good luck with the hunt and enjoy the spare time while you can.

EDIT: Just saw that you are already going to school....

Default minor update

UPDATE

Ok so I've been laid off for roughly 4 weeks now. Been applying online at all major hospitals and "good" jobs: don't want to **** with retail ever again.
Fast forward to today:
I am eating breakfast with the wife when I get a call from a weird number. Its a hiring lady from Health Net. ZOMFG!!
I have an interview appointment next tuesday, the 7th with them. When I heard this I got a boner I was so happy

So anyways, wish me luck

Good luck and hope you shared your "happiness" with your wife and didn't just keep it to yourself.
