Stopped to get fuel on the way home this evening. Turbo was hot (have a pyrometer on the a pillar), and I didn't feel like waiting for it. So with the car idling, I opened the fuel lid, got out of the car and proceeded to pump fuel. Then I put the filler cap back on, closed the fuel door, got back in the car and drove off without applying proper safety restraints. The boost gauge, also mounted on the a pillar, shot to 10psi before I made it to the gas station's exit.

And I didn't blow up.
Or did I?

PS, there were no TVs at this gas station. Perhaps that's the difference

No one is saying its a giant explosion.
