To be perfectly honest, it never even occurred to me until this thread that there might be people who wouldn't understand it. I mean, even if you had literally been raised by wolves in a cave in northern Siberia and had only just this morning seen other humans for the first time, I would still have assumed that you knew what Mos Eisley was and what sort of people were to be found there.
My only excuse is that during this period I was spending all my time in the real Mos Eisleys of the world (NAS Fallon, NAS El Centro, USS Forrestal and Saratoga, miscellaneous armpits throughout the world -- Mombasa, Kenya anyone?). Come to think of it, Naval Aviation is a lot like "being raised by wolves in a cave . . . and only just this morning seing other (normal) humans for the first time." |
