Lexus Drift!

If you haven't seen it already--

Most badass SUV on the planet. Set up for drifting from the factory.

slutz4 04-13-2010 10:09 PM

what the hell is electronic stability control. People need to quit being pussys and learn how to drive.

Faeflora 04-14-2010 12:55 AM

That is when you turn off the drift.

These were my exact thoughts when I heard about this.

cardriverx 04-14-2010 03:38 AM

dude that makes me want to buy it lol

gospeed81 04-14-2010 06:47 AM

Man, I remember the days when SUVs were allowed to do all kinds of cool tricks like slides, drifts, flips and even picking up the rear wheels while the fronts locked up during heavy braking. They still sold like hotcakes then, and no one thought they needed to protect us from ourselves.

Scandinavian flick!

m2cupcar 04-14-2010 08:50 AM

I think Porsche has a fix for lift throttle over steer.

localtech 04-14-2010 08:56 AM

I wish they would leave Toyota alone.
I wonder what would happen if Toyota just told the US. Alright, We will stop selling and producing our crap in your Country. We have made our money...

Seriously in the future they will be saying "dont buy this" when the seats dont massage your butt just right.

Lexus GX470 Hirvonen Edition

Machismo 04-14-2010 09:09 AM

My old ass Isuzu Trooper II would never had been able to do that. ;) And this is a bad thing?
He He... the news anchor on our local network stated they needed to make a car that can't go sideways for everyone's safety. I think he was the one who reportedly shows up at the clubs in his Porsche.

turotufas 04-14-2010 10:11 AM

"When pushed to its limits on our track's handling course," Consumer Reports says, "the rear of the GX we bought slid out until the vehicle was almost sideways before the electronic stability control system was able to regain control."

That really pisses me off for some reason.

Braineack 04-14-2010 10:18 AM

I have a feeling the GX 460 is going to be found at a good prices soon...

mgeoffriau 04-14-2010 10:22 AM

LMAO....CR even did a slow-mo replay of the drift.

My first car was a 1992 4Runner V6 automatic. I grew to hate that thing, but it had some really terrible tires and when it rained you could slide it around corners like nobody's business.

thymer 04-14-2010 02:51 PM

Well what the fuck did they expect it to do when they lift off the throttle in the middle of a turn. Dumb-asses.

Further proof of the pussification of America boys...

Doppelgänger 04-14-2010 03:22 PM

Meh...just some dumb SUV. If some assfuck was dumb enough to drive it that unsafely and flips and dies....well...too bad.

Next!

Consumer Reports is useless for anyone who actually likes automotive stuff. They might be useless in general for automotive stuff.

These are the people who will basically grade a vehicle poor when its drivelne and suspension last for 200K miles with even mimimal maitenenace but the dash plastic is prone to cracking.
