this is GENIUS. I plan on making something like it once i get back, except with another inverted box on top of it.
I can't see litter tracking being an issue at all after this. Plus, its funny to watch when the cat has her head poking out of the hole and she starts making her poop face :giggle: |

I use a big open tub and a 50/50 mix of World's Best Cat Litter and S'wheat Scoop. Why 50/50? |

Why 50/50? but the poopoo and peepee stink like the dickens. S'wheat scoop neutralizes odors pretty well but doesn't clump into the bricks as well. so I mix. plus it's slightly cheaper that way. |
i used those clever cat boxes for a while at my previous apartment. they were great at keeping the litter in the ------- box.

$5 pan with surprisingly slick non-stick surface. These also work well for Miata fluid catch pans.

Note: This can easily be replicated with a Rubbermaid container with lid.
https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1332443250 My cat sees it as a personal challenge to get as much litter out of the box and onto the floor as possible. This was the only way to win |
my cats are stupid and scratch the roof of our box. i also have to wipe my boy cat's ass daily.
|
My cat likes to take a crap and then go in the bathtub and scratch the ---- out of the bathtub and the glass... go figure.
|
Currently using 2 open style pans and one enclosed, so 3 total.
My one cat recently started having major behavioral issues and we didn't know what to do. After taking him to the vet she suggested more litter boxes ( we used only one) and an pheromone wall outlet thingy for our room so he would stop pissing on our blanket. The changes did help and he has stopped. Downside is both cats have taken a liking to the litter box in my office. LOL |
I have always been told by the vet to have one more box than there are cats. It helps.
Also used those pheremone things, and it stopped the one cat from spraying. Well worth the cost. |

About spraying... a couple years back my wife got me this amazing down stay puff marsh mellow man jacket, it was awesome. Had it for all of maybe 3 weeks until my cat found it on the chair, he caressed it into a bowl shape and then sprayed on it. It sat for a few hours until full absorbed.
After multiple washes, dry cleaning etc it still had that faint smell. Ill be honest, I started to wear it. The picture below is how my first night went ;) https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...2&d=1334850881 It was soooo stank. |

The other cats use a couple Booda domes, and besides a little tracking, no issues. Also, just realized we have 5 litter boxes. +1 sigh. |
