when I was much younger, I did a 3am oil change on my tracker prior to leaving on a roadtrip. somehow the drain bolt never made it back into the pan.. 4 quarts of oil is ALOT to clean up....

While jacking the car up to install the skid I built, the jack slipped and connected with the oil pan. When I started the car it made a nice rod knocking sound.... Irony? Yea....

Have to drop the K-member and HOPE the oil pan can be beat back out Sunday. Happy Easter.....

I topped up my oil on my old Miata before a run up a hillclimb a few years ago. Forgot to put the cap on and did the run. Spewed oil all over my engine bay (imagine, 15psi... 7000RPM up hill for 2 mins. flat out). Oil wasn't that low, engine was OK but man was it a pain to clean.

It once toke me like 3 days to replace my master & slave cylinders. It didn't take me that long to install my rollbar or new top.

What is it with oil caps?

I once had the oil cap on my Integra pop off somewhere between the Cincinnati airport and my house in Maineville, a distance of about 40 miles. And yeah, I found it lying right on top of the valve cover.

What an unbelievable mess. I don't think I ever got it totally clean.
