You paid money for oem seatbelts? More than free+shipping or junkyard costs?
|
I like it

I don't care how M.net of me it is... LE's are sooo sexy. Nice belts.
|
Is that the CG lock!? I've always wondered if they worked or not. I hate driving my wife's car with the crappy stock belt.

The CG lock is great. It holds you in very well for a tri-point belt. I didn't think of this when I got it, but it makes the ride more tolerable since it doesn't let you come up off of the seat and then slam down.

this thread remind me i want seatbeats that retract correctly.
|
Matt, now all you're missing is black and red MSM seats.

Is it an issue with the belts themselves? I still have my old ones, and they worked fine.
happened after roll bar install, on both my miatas. I'm doing it wrong I guess. |

I'm using the Boss frog seat belt guides. |
Look close at the system. The reason why the seatbelt doesn't retract properly after roll bar installation is because the belt drags on the housing. The BF guides attempt to reposition the belts to get a better angle into the housing, but if there's contact, the belts still won't retract properly. It's also possible that drag induced where the belts contact the BF guides themselves can prevent successful retraction.

They retract part way, but not all the way, I really feel like I need to rewind the clockspring or something as the don't really bind.

WTF is a LE seatbelt????
|
CG lock sucks. It only locks the lap part of the belt. There is a special little trick you can use to lock the entire belt and make hard driving much more enjoyable.

Me too. I'd like to know how I can go about it. Ever since installing the antiroll bar I've been facing that issue.

Get in car
Slide seat back Tighten belt snugly across lap Using left hand, hold shoulder belt tightly against chest up by your left shoulder *** Using other hand, reach up to where belt loops through the guide and pull as hard and as fast as you can. If you get it right, it should lock with less than 1" of belt pulled out. Now, lean forward into the belt to keep it locked/tight. While leaning forward, reach under the seat to the slide and slide the seat forward. Sometimes it's helpful to pull up using the steering wheel. Locked!! You should be able to sit in the seat without it unlocking if you have done this correctly. *** Some people find it easy to hold the should belt with their right hand (holding it by your left shoulder) and pull with their left hand. |

I learned this trick when I was autocrossing. A locked belt will keep you snug in the seat. I tried the CG-Lock and I ended up with a sore back because the shoulder part of the belt was loose. |

share your special little trick please.
2. retract belt fully, even lean back to help. 3. pull belt fast to engage safety lock. 4. push seat forward until you're comfortable. 5. get seat to lock in place. 6. ???? 7. Profit. |
That's a good trick to use at an autox, but for day-to-day driving I'm not going to do that each time.. :)
