Look at what's in my driveway. I'm back!

You guys were in danger of losing me but I'm back now (huge collective sigh of relief <G>).

These pictures were taken four months apart.

September 2010 (only the red hatchback remains today and it is my work car):

February 2011 (bought the first one at Thanksgiving and the other two a couple of weeks ago):

Something went wrong there.....I see a car that isn't red.

Rob has issues.

Let me guess, the middle miata wasn't a SC car?

y8s 02-04-2011 09:41 AM

rob has image resizing issues. jaggies!

so is this a miata shell game? we have to guess which one has the V8 under it?

Braineack 02-04-2011 09:47 AM

probably the first. my question is: how long are you going to keep that middle one's paint looking so good. Obviously if you live in SC you must apply paint fader.

shuiend 02-04-2011 09:52 AM

You guys have it all wrong. He is doing a Geo Metro engine swap into one of them.

I like the paint on the one in the middle it was not too long ago that mine looked so good. Then a small incident with a 4Runner and it was all down hill from there.lol

Issues? Duh! Actually, I think this will be the last car project I ever do (not counting the 1940 Ford that will be my inheritance one day - I'll pay someone to do that one though). I'm getting tired of bruised knuckles and an aching back.

Anyway, you are right. The middle one is a garage kept automatic. The others are definitely beat down southern cars.

The wider tires on the first car would indicate it holds the V8.

FWIW, this is my inheritance - the 2nd car my dad ever owned. It has been sitting in one garage or another since I was born in 1967:

I'm actually putting two Metro engines in the middle one. That way I will have a 2.0L V6

I think you should do what you talked about before. Take out the middle rod and piston from each geo engine. Then fuse the engines together and drop it in the miata.

Actually, I might want the old shell from the V8 car. Marty and I briefly talked about making it a Lemons car last night at the LCMC meeting.

Braineack 02-04-2011 03:35 PM

There was a Geo engine swap posted over at m.net not too long ago.

Hmmm, Lemons car would be cool. My game plan at the present is to pull the 1.6L drivetrain out of my hardtop car and put it in the ugly car. I figure a running vehicle (no matter how damn ugly it is) is still worth 3 times more than just a drivetrain. It is all about recouping money for the project at this point. I'll keep you guys in mind though.

Good thing your car hobbies have so far focused on cars in the <160 in. range, otherwise you couldn't fit 3 of them in your driveway while maintaining free access to the garage.

I say position your trailer in the back of the photo along side of the msm (still have both of these?) and make it look like you have five.

Not a bad idea. This is what the driveway at my other house looks like:
