Takin It To The Limits!
Well On my work I tried somthing , apparently unkonown to my knowledge(I thought I knew this car in and out) you can take a miata all the way to the rev-limiter around 7500 rpms where mazda apparently built a fail-safe to cut off fuel before and engine damage occurs, so In term a miata can be rev happy all the way until you bounce off the rev-limit and from what I read no damage occurs by this, so all this time be cautious and shifting @ 6500-7500rpms, Well this morning I tried this 3 times, between first and second gear, the whole time I was shitting bricks because my exhaust note is seriously loud thanks to an exhaust leak AND i Did'nt want to get pulled first thing in the morning, So I took the back roads to work, Bounced off the rev limit @ 35mph then again in 2nd @ 60mph, I did'nt take this any further In fear of getting pulled over for my exhaust. but I had this wierd feeling of gratification and new respect for the car...I read all this in the "MAZDA MIATA PERFORMANCE HANDBOOK" I got this book in the mail yesterday, I like it!

lol...7200rpms is the fuel cutoff. Its not bad but I really wouldn't leave it up there for more than a second or so at a time. I take mine to 7k all the time, no harm.
My 90 w/ do 37 off the revlimiter in first and around 63-64 on the limiter in second.

The spedo is also not very accurate either. At 100km/h indicated it's out about 6-7km/h according to my GPS. Oddly enough so is my Tribute. Go Mazda/Ford!
And it isn't actually fuel cut, it's spark cut. At 7000rpm cutting fuel could be very very bad. Lean .... booom!
And I thought the revlimit on the 1.8 was around 6900?

wow ,but I can't believe this is possible to do this without engine damage, and It has a kick to, Im not saying stay gas to the floor and letting it hit the rev-limiter for more than a sec or so , but taking it the point of spark cut off every gear without damage to the motor...Its probly better since Im running full synthetic right?
