y8s Apr 4, 2009 03:42 PM

no but i'm gonna see U2 and Muse

wayne_curr Apr 4, 2009 04:01 PM

I just cannot listen to Metallica anymore. They are such money mongers it makes me hard to enjoy their music knowing that they are so immersed in how much money they are earning from it. It doesn't bother most people much but having been in the music industry for a while it makes me sick.

God I hate this attitude. It's a business too. Were you in the part of the music industry that ripped off all the artists? What's wrong with getting rich off of making music?

Metallica's new album is very good. And while I certainly loved AJFA, Ride the Lightning and MOP, the Black album was a great album. It showed more growth as a band than the BS "sellout" they got labeled with.

Seen 'em twice, would see them again if I could afford it. I'm not too much of a fan of the stuff with the new bassist, dunno why.

Was waiting for this. There is a big difference between making a living off of music, even getting rich, and being G-R-E-E-D-Y. They're already fucking rich, why do thy have to cry and want money for every time someone farts a note that might have been in one of their songs.

Not sure which part of the industry you're referring to that rips off the artists...i guess like weird Al or something? The whole industry rips off the artists. Most bands only make like 1 or 2 dollars for their $15 CDs.

Bottom line is, they're 90% about the money, 10% about the music. I haven't heard the newest album, but the last couple were pretty piss poor in my opinion.

You guys are delusional, Metallica stopped making albums after And Justice for All.

After seeing Some Kind of Monster I can't take them seriously. Sitting around coming up with riffs a kid in middle school would dream up. I'm flat out amazed they wrote their earlier stuff. All those dudes are stupid as FUCK. Emphasis on FUCK.

Dang, a bad Radiohead ripoff band and a bunch of self masturbating schmucks who play overrated bullshit.

Though I do kinda like muse. Even if Matthew Bellamy really wants to be Thom ------ Yorke.

UrbanSoot Apr 4, 2009 11:45 PM

fuck metallica. go see napalm death or something.

** ordering napalm death tickets for upcoming show... **

NA6C-Guy Apr 4, 2009 11:49 PM

I'm going because a friend bought tix and my gf was interested. i haven't seen U2 live (unless you count inauguration weekend) so it should be "neat" at least.

UrbanSoot Apr 5, 2009 02:27 PM

u2... neat... pussy

Ben Apr 5, 2009 04:00 PM

I'd like to go, but it's just so much damn money to go to big concerts, I'm kind of jaded.

wayne_curr Apr 5, 2009 04:41 PM

The only kind of big concerts that are fun to go to anymore for me are festivals. Otherwise, club settings are way better.

Overall though i feel like i'm getting old...i never feel like checking out shows anymore. I guess mostly cause when I was younger I was going to punk shows and leaving beat up and bleeding. Now days I just sit at the bar.

y8s Apr 5, 2009 05:27 PM

my favorite are grungy club shows. like at the rock and roll hotel or some of the local bars with space for stages.

9671111 Apr 5, 2009 07:59 PM

Intimate shows ftw by far.

jobambo Apr 5, 2009 08:18 PM

Lets talk about some real music; when is TOOL gonna start their tour?

9671111 Apr 5, 2009 08:57 PM

When's TOOL gonna stop playing the same riffs on each album?

nicacus Apr 5, 2009 09:14 PM

Avenged Sevenfold's first three albums were really good. now the rest sound like a mix of new metalica and some shitty ass screamo band.

Avenged sevenfold is on my list of super sell out bands.
