Miata or Turbo II

I found a dirt cheap turbo II for sale locally... Should I price the miata to actually sell and build up the TII, or should I swap the TII running gear into the miata and sell whats left? I have always loved rotary power and never found mazdas B series engines all that entertaining. (They are reliable and can make pretty good power but don't have much character) I can buy the car for about $500 which means that selling just my supercharger and emanage could most likely pay for the whole swap. What do you guys think?

sounds to me like YOU should definitely sell the Miata

It has been for sale in the classifieds for a while... I never got an offer from you :bigtu:

The Turbo II is definately the cheap way to go fast.

turbos II's suck. BTDT.

Miata.....and put a turbo on it.....I heard that's what the cool kids do

Rotary is just not my cup of tea.....if you were going to put a 5.0 or LS1 in it, it just might be acceptable :bigtu:

I could turbo the miata and it would be easier, but I already have a boosted miata and while it is a lot of fun, I am kinda ready for something different. I love rotary power - its linear, easy to drive fast, no valve train robbing power, plus it is just something different.

You have an M45 S/C? Try something with some balls and maybe you'll change your tune. 200whp in a Miata vs 200whp in an FC.

See I am a sick person... I would rather take the FC and strap a 2.2liter/rev twin screw supercharger on it. It would just be so wrong... A pair of quadrajet carbs feeding a large roots blower would be equally wrong yet fun, especially if you ran methanol or E85.

wish I could get E85 cheaply around here, I'd have some 60+ pound injectors in the GTO and a retune stat.

I keep thinking of all of the fun things that could be done with the FC, but I know I would miss the convertible. I thought about just selling the SC and going turbo. Maybe I should just look into putiing a v8 in the yada. Anyone here have any experience?

Tom you really think you have the mechanical knowhow to put a v8 in there from scratch??, I doubt ud want to buy a kit

It's a simple formula on the Miata. Add large Turbo, Lots of Boost and some decent engine management and stir. It can keep you very entertained and easily make as much power as a naturally aspirated V8.
