I just love that everyone hates breezy.

Is that AKA urban? Or do the cars just look exactly the same (NB, greenish, slammed, eyebrows, expensive ill fitting wheels, etc)?

Wait. An idea is forming.

Ask Tim about MT.net becoming a sponsor of CR. You WOULD actually get your own subforum. And sponsoring CR is a business expense which gets written off at tax time.

hahahaha

Braineack 01-03-2012 10:15 AM

think so, or they could be different. same idea. stock car, slammed, poked expensive wheels.

lol. hey so did tim really sell the site? we were going to buy if but he turned down the offer.

revlimiter 01-03-2012 10:34 AM

To be honest, I have no idea. I've heard that he did AND I've heard that he didn't. The rumors that he DID sell the site were from a while ago. 4 weeks? If he sold it, the new owners aren't showing their faces.

Hell, I considered buying it.

Doppelgänger 01-03-2012 10:58 AM

I'm about to hit 3 months without posting on CR.

Is it bad that I quit CR over quitting smoking?

Seefo 01-03-2012 11:06 AM

CR is pretty stupid, whether for silly noob posts about the same damn fitment or because "its not like back in the day" (what really is like back in the day?).

But it brings me lulz during work, especially when Brain gets edjumacating on some fools. Like the occupy thread.

I just checked my app and I'm 479 days since I quit smoking.

Hows it feel to breathe like ? lol

Sorry bro.

Doppelgänger 01-03-2012 11:13 AM

I'm not a heavy smoker though....like I didn't have any the past 3 days, but I had 2 today. I have not bought another pack and my next one will only be if someone gives me one here at work. I'll eventually get tired of it.

Vashthestampede 01-03-2012 11:21 AM

That's a start at least. :bigtu: Wanting to quit is really what its all about. I tried quitting on like 3 different occasions and those only last a few months at a time.

I don't miss it like I figured I would. When I see people smoking now I'm almost thankful I don't look/smell/breathe like them. Not hating, I know how hard it is to quit. Just happy I finally did and I recommend to all that smoke to try.

Back on topic.

I only go to CR when you guys post something from there. Then sometimes once I'm there I'll browse around, but I never actually go there on my own free will. Not hating, just not my type of crowd.

Braineack 01-03-2012 11:24 AM

I post my wisdom over there, so I can expand my following and call upon them when I'm finally ready to unleash my plan to take over the world.

plus, I always try to drop in mt, mfz, and v8m links every now and again. and they provide so much entertainment.

I could never understand why you didn't quit after getting ripped off by it's members. I got burned, so I said the hell with them. Tim did absolutely nothing to the scammers, so I left.

If the new owners refuse to allow that crap, I might consider going back once in a while. I may not be Dr. Miata, but I've been working on cars for 40 years, and I know a lot of tricks.

well played.

rleete 01-03-2012 12:43 PM

Just because I'm late to the Miata party means nothing. I helped my dad before I was a teenager. He taught me to rebuild brake cylinders before I was old enough to drive. Back then (old cars) there was no internet to order parts, so you either found one at a junkyard or fixed what you had. First car I can remember working on was an old tank of a Kaiser (Chieftan) that he bought for a winter beater.

Edit: just for the record, I'm 50 years old. A geezer in comparison to most of you children.

rleete 01-03-2012 12:44 PM

Oh, and it wasn't Doppleganger, but Leatherface who got burned on CR.

MT as a whole seems to be like one big forum of OGs. MT doesn't tolerate the n00b sh!t and will either put someone in their place to the point where they shape up or GTFO....bannishment if need be as well.

I guess I am lucky in the dealings I've had with people on there that I have never been scammed/burned. But then again, I've really only dealt with known reputable people on there. Most of my dealings happen on here anyway. I've always posted stuff/bought stuff from here before anywhere else.

maybe he should go by curly.

spike 01-03-2012 03:43 PM

First post in a long time.

Anyways,I remember posting a question in the "slammed" thread( I think it was that thread)asking what was the purpose of having a car that was so low,it broke oil pans, accompanied with poor fitting wheels & rusty body panels. The majority of the repsonse's I got from the socalled experts from 06 members were " you just don't get it".

So as far as I'm concerned,it doesn't matter if you're a 06 OG member or you only been there a year, the majority of them are all retards, regardless of how long they have been on that site.

Serious props for quitting. I know it sucked for a long time. I remember the thread where you talked about it. Good for ya' for having the strength.

He does it too. I just talked somebody down here into running your spring rates because he has an NB and your 6ULs and wants to track.

It sucked losing a lot of MT folks because you weren't on that board anymore. Your posts (the serious ones) are always excellent.

And you could garner a lot more business if you spent more time over here. I've said it before. There are obviously lots of guys (several on this thread alone) that didn't know you did really professional gauge faces.

I would like to have a set that had OMG at redline on every gauge. I really would.

Seefo 01-03-2012 09:15 PM

All the more reason with this CR going on. I have no doubt that CR will be a fraction of what it is now, depending on how you want to measure it.

I visit here daily. Often several times a day. I mostly lurk though.

I shall endeavor to lurk less.

And I could make those gauges happen. :)
