Damn...first music I remember is MJ because I found a cassette player outside one day with the Dangerous tape in it. Of course I was like 4 or 5 then. And haven't really listened to MJ since I was 7. Oh well. He did make some good songs, too bad his reputation is so tarnished. I am kind of looking forward to all the jokes, though.

Moonwalker was a terrible game.

So much disrespect, and I bet a lot of it is being hurled around by people who probably aren't old enough to remember how awesome he used to be. When I was growing up, he was THE MAN, there was nobody bigger. He blazed the trail for most of what pop music is today, and even now that he's dead he still has more talent in his pinky toe than most of the current crop of "artists" have in their entire bodies. He made white boys, who everybody knows can't dance, at least make an effort. And grown white men still try in vain to imitate some of those moves when we're drunk in Las Vegas.

Sure he was a bit of a freak show and lots of people will choose to remember him that way. He did bring it on himself by "leaking" absurd but untrue stories to tabloids. But most of what he actually did was relatively harmless. He had an addiction to plastic surgery and was on and off prescription drugs. So what, who does that really hurt besides him? And it's not like he was raping little boys like the press would have you believe. If you ever saw him in an interview, it's obvious that he lacked the full mental capacity and reasoning of a mature adult. It's like he was stuck in time as a kid who wasn't really comprehending how bad some of his actions made him look, or how badly lawsuit-happy people wanted a chunk of his dough. Some kid may or may not have seen his hootus at one of his ill advised sleep-overs but he was never convicted of any crime. My opinion is that his actions arose out of naiveté and not malicious intent. It's not like he beat his wife, shot people, or had actual sex with kids (none that's been proven anyway) like the current crop of celebrities.

The radio stations that don't trade as much on sensationalism are playing his songs all night. Hell even the country music station was playing "Beat It" during my commute. I get home and click on the TV and these ******* reporters haven't even let the body cool and the discussion is all about the tabloid **** and they're barely mentioning the magnitude of influence he had on world pop music. Some of these ******* can't even try to be respectful for like half a day. Can't say I'm surprised though.

I hope the world doesn't mourn him. He doesn't deserve it. He wasn't brilliant, he was sick. He defined everything bad about "pop" music. All spectacle, very little music. He wasn't an artist he was a freakshow.

You are probably the only person on earth saying that he wasn't talented.

I feel sorry for the family of Farrah Fawcett, her passing will be eclipsed the circus that is Michael Jackson.

Yup. And I'm right. Ok, he could sing. Big ******* deal, plenty of people were as good or better. His asshattery in the media sold more albums than any talent ever did.

I'll mourn the Joey Ramones and the Joe Strummers of the world. You **** can have Mr Jackson.

Jesus. That's brilliant. I hate to see such an amazing career overshadowed by the perfect joke.

Thank you, MJ, for making that joke possible.

Couldn't help it.

Not gonna lie, he wasn't the perfect person but who honestly is? As for his musical career he had a few good songs. For the most part not my type of music, but I could stand listening to him which is a LOT more than I can say for **** like Rage... Zach's voice makes me want to kill kittens... Not to mention their Political affiliation......... lets not go there.

I Particularly liked Thriller and Don't Stop Til You get Enough. You know, CHA'MON MEOW!!

"Michael Jackson is not going to be buried or cremated, it has been decided that he will be recycled into shopping bags so he can remain white, plastic, and dangerous for kids to play with".

Michael Jackson had just finished writing a book before he died.....it's called "The In's and Outs of Child Rearing".

Since everyone is so sad, some channel had an interview from 03. He looked like a humanoid alien plastic doll. Mucho creepy.

It wasn't until many years after listening to "P.Y.T." that I realized he wasn't actually singing about a girl he was interested in. What did you think he meant when he said "young?" Eighteen? Lower. Sixteen? Much lower.

I wonder what Lisa Marie Presley is doing these days? One of the creepiest videos he ever did was the one with the two of them in a swimming pool. I think she was naked. I only caught it once.

Go figure, miata guys and Micheal Jackson.

He was big when I was growing up, but then he started being a ***, then a mutant manwomen, then he kinda just disappeared. Now he's dead. Lots of people die everyday, like someone else said "another one bites the dust......***"

I can't believe Congress took a moment of silence. **** that. We have soldiers dying every day and they stop passing their "green" bills for the King of Pop.

On a different note:
Is it too early to start the conspiracy theories?

I'm convinced he faked his own death to avoid the public spotlight and bail on those 50 sold out shows.
