So, how much did the granite end up costing as a DIY job? I might do this with my rental to increase its value.

It looks baller.
the reason I went full back splash is because it is much easier to clean/maintain. while tile is not anything hard either, if a kitchen gets lots of use sometimes it gets moldy on the grout or if something splashes its just a little harder to clean. either way is great though, I just like this way more. The black is a good material (the darker the color the more dense the granite is, so the stronger it is), but it weighs a **** ton more than this stuff, and is near impossible to buff/polish should you get a crack or a scratch. It is very hard to crack/scratch it , but I just wanted to be safe and stay away from something I wouldnt be able to repair later if anything happened. that and the black wouldnt match anything in my house.

ps pharmacy tech huh? I bet you can count real good and read poorly written latin like a champ!
I can read some of the ugliest writing you can possibly imagine. some of these doctors write uglier than a one legged chicken on crystal meth. most of the time they cant read their own writing, so its up to us to figure out wtf the patient actually needs.

I am exactly 2000 into it. It is possible to have gone WAY cheaper though. Like if I wanted to only go 4" or 6" backsplash, the price would have been 1 THOUSAND less. If i went topmount sink instead of undermount it would be 150 less. If I went demi bullnose instead of full bullnose it would be 200 less...So if I wanted to do it for a ridiculous (say 500 bux) price I could. But I figured: this **** will be in my house for the next 10 years MINIMUM, I really dont want to cheap out and get something I didnt absolutely love.
