Gotta crash test giant weiners I guess. If you made a giant weiner wouldn't you want to destructive test it?!? I guess it's what guys at testing facilities do when they are bored.

My favorite is the dump truck hitting the barrier. Must be testing barriers for embassy's or the like. That truck hit's it and stops dead.

The cables are cool unless they hit too high. I've been thinking about that with the cables we have here and my little Miata. The chain link fence shots are pretty good. Takes the top right of one car. Would have taken heads with it I'm sure.

What did we learn? Well, crashing ANYTHING into a concrete structure at speed is going to suck.

The jet plane into the concrete barrier was pretty ******* cool. I hope they were testing the barrier and not the plane ... epic fail for the plane.

Yeah, it's pretty cool seeing something collapse into nothing against a wall. A 100' long plane becomes 2' of burning trash pretty much instantly.

test: ********

Amazed at some of the (presumably) Soviet built cars folding like an accordion!

Yeah, some of those videos are a bit uncomfortable to see. Fascinating, no doubt, but also kind of scary.

BTW: The Weiner and the Sushi roll is from a Renualt add. They also run a baguette into the wall, but it takes the hit a lot better and the punch line is: "French cars are safest in the world." No, I am not making this up. As an add, it is funny as hell.

The most disturbing to me are the ones running cars into the back of trucks. Basically demonstrating that yes, your head will be taken off.

Sadly i can vouch for that. Was driving down the i35 to New Braunfels in TX a few months ago, and there was a big 4 door ford truck that smashed into the back of a semi like that. I have no idea how fast he was going, but it was devastating. The a pillars were crushed in past the b pillars. The back doors were even crushed halfways in. There was a man in the back seat they were trying to rescue and he was literally pinned in by the carnage.

Was truly a sad sight to see, knowing both the driver and passenger were dead for sure.

Worst I ever drove by was a bicyclist on the freeway just after 5 or 6 cars had run him over.

One word. Parts.

I really just hope I never get hit too hard in my little Miata. Our cars will lose to just about anything. Mass wins in an accident.

Yes, surprisingly enough, when you T-bone a Civic with a Grand Cherokee at a high rate of speed, the Civic gets smashed.

Look up train wrecks if you want to see superior carnage. A train will tear a tractor-trailer to shreds like it was a plethora of pinatas.
