Moving to Seattle from Vancouver - Importing car?

I got a new job in Seattle and will be packing my life up and moving down south at the end of the month. (Exciting! Scary!)
I'm a Canadian, new to the state and I will have to do a bunch of annoying stuff like getting a new drivers license, insurance, etc etc.
I'm hoping to take my turbo miata with me, if I can.
Does anybody have any experience importing a car into Washington from BC? I'll be living in King county - does this mean I'll have to get smog tests done on my car?
I still have everything I need to revert the car back to stock with all original emissions equipment, but I don't want to have to go through the work of doing it if I don't have to.

Also - how is the autocross scene around Seattle?

Thanks!

Pm me your number I did it with a snowmobile last winter. And there's a good amount of places to go around here

What year is your miata? Older than 25 years doesn't have to do emissions in king county. I passed emissions on my 93 with no cat, 3" exhaust, turbo, built motor, ms3 a couple of years ago. If you move to snohomish or pierce counties I don't think there are emissions at all.

I'm next door in Snohomish county, so not apples to apples, but the "smog" check is only an OBDII code scan. You're exempt if you're pre OBDII.

On a separate but related note, WA has privatized a bunch of the licensing/registration. You can't do it all at the same place, but it's all pretty quick and easy. Be grateful it ain't like Cali.

The car is a 99, so it normally has ODBII. Do you think the test would be a port scan rather than a probe sniff? I'd try to pass by adding in a cat and doing the sniff if that's the way its done, if its ODBII scan I'd have to refit all OE stuff. Maybe it depends on the test station? Who knows!

Thank you for the help, guys.
