I don't think it has a tune or even the recall flash from Yamaha. The throttle is incredibly touchy in STD mode. That or I suck and I've spent to much time on my supermoto. With the full exhaust it snaps and pops constantly during engine braking, but under WOT the bike sounds like an animal.
A reflash should make a huge difference in rideability.

Best tank ever was right around 70 mpg, achieved when I was on a leisurely mountain road running a sustained 50 ish mph taking it easy (I knew I had to take it easy since the loop was about 215 miles and my normal fuel range was only 170!)</p>

And.. out of left field, these have always done it for me. They are affordable for now, but im sure they will eventually skyrocket in value:
That yamaha FJ09 tickles me in the right places too, as does the triumph tiger and bimmer options. Alas, out of my price range..

It didn't feel significantly slower than my firebolt, and was unbelievably agile for being such a big, tall thing (the '06 had higher suspension than the later Uly XT).</p><p>But that 1125...</p><p>Dad bought it new. First time I rode it after break in was complete, I held it wide open in third. As it unloaded the front tire at 110 mph, I decided I liked the bike very much. That bike was absolutely insane, though I preferred the firebolt on twisty roads. That's exactly why i want the CR, and also exactly why the XBR will never leave me.
Always been "the" Buell guy around here, so i don't think i could do the honda anyways.
Then again, the 1125R is not ruled out by any means. I had the thought to put high bars on my 12R, and get a 1125R for track duty and when riding with my jap bike buddies.

<p>lol well riding the 1125 with them would help you keep pace in the straights as well as the twisties. I'm pretty sure I was just not as confident on the 1125, it's just as good a bike. You can buy them (and all Buells, really) soooooo cheap.</p>

Love those Buells! Rode a 1125r back in the day at a Harley/Buell deakership demo day. I was not prepared, front wheel straight up Lol.
Always wanted a buell xb12s in that translucent orange, instead I have a bright yellow SV650. Couldn't afford the Buell when I was just a college lad, now I'm too attached to the SV to sell. I should just buy another bike, and then not ride it like this one.

Gotta say though, the idea of 160+mph is pretty cool. And the price of the 1125's right now is downright absurd. Gonna get one before they jump up in price!

I love the bike and the wife has been fighting me not to sell it. We dated on the thing. First year we were together it was all the two of us had for transportation. I'm currently trying to sell it and I oddly get no hits on it. Like it is cursed or something. I just don't ride here in TN because I refuse to ride without out all my gear and the humidity kills me here.

I had a silver 03 SV1000S with 13:1 compression Wiseco TL-R pistons, ported heads and an M4 2-1 system. I loved that bike for a while, but eventually it got to be a pain in the *** to ride it in town. It was just fast enough that it took constant attention to make it go a reasonable speed.
Every time somebody bumps this thread it makes me want another bike....
