Motorcycles are my main love. I sold my previous MX-5 and stopped racing cars to buy more bikes.
Most of my riding is travel / long distance riding touring.
Current daily rider street bike is my VFR 800.
And with bags after my first Ironbutt ride.
I have a bunch more Honda's hanging out in the garage. Some are projects some are commuter scooters.
1971 CL350, 1972 CB450, 1973 CB350, 1998 VFR800, 1998 CN250, 2001 CN250
Sold off Suzuki's a few years ago, a GSXF 600 and a GSXF 1200. Also sold off my 1982 CX500.
A Yamaha is likely in my future, a 1200 Super Tenere.

Pretty epic trip this past weekend. Portland, Oregon to Scottsbluff, NE. Saturday was all rain with some snow (), but Sunday and Monday was actually fun. Overall a horrible idea, but a ton of fun in the end.
My bike is a 2007 SV650 that i got for $1k off craigslist. Rolled over 40k, 30 miles from the end of our trip.
Riding partner broke a chain on the first day, and I had to get my front tire replaced on the second day.

I have a few friends that bought them in the last 2 years, 17' models I think(so still carb iirc). They don't suck.
After owning a ktm, I'm done with making any Japanese moto bike work on the trails. Orange/white or blue/white only from now on. Because **** mototcross.

Going through this thread has brought back some great memories. I only had a bike for a relatively short time, but I sure did have a blast and definitely miss it. There are some seriously awesome bikes in this thread, I love seeing what other people have.
2005 Kawasaki Ninja 636 - first ride bringing it home:
Was involved in a hit and run Memorial Day Weekend 2012 - was taking a blind 60 degree right sweeper when a sedan coming the other way came around the corner in my lane. I pushed hard right to try to get out of the way and he clipped my rear tire spinning the bike out from under me. I low-sided and the bike slid across the road into a ditch/fence. The bike bounced back out away from the fence and I slid into the hole it made. Luckily I just had a fractured right collarbone and some minor road rash where it wore through my jeans and Icon textile jacket.
Spent the next six months rebuilding and decided on a color change:
Final touches was some gold wheel tape and tinted windscreen to tie it all together:

0_o Turn 18 @ NYST?
Scenery looks familiar:
Currently on a 09 1125R, eyeing up a RC8 because twin, because EBR doesn't make parts for 1190s, because tq.
my old 06 xb12R
01 Tri-955i Daytona. Unreal sounding bike. Gave it up in a move. sad.
Had a recent work trip to Vegas so I rented this 883(was between this and a loaded bagger) and headed to LA, bonus

Supermotos are more fun than you have any right to have on two wheels, but they make **** poor only bikes. It feels like you're wringing it's neck to go interstate speed, and they're torture devices after more than 45 mins in the saddle.
I say that to say that you should just keep both bikes.
Or sell me that XR.

I picked up a 1980 Honda CX500D this summer from a friend who had a tenant leave it behind when he moved out of state. Ended up getting the title for $250. PO tried to cafe the bike but mostly just removed bolts and replaced with zipties. It had been non-running and outside for 2 years and started with a jump pack. Cleaned the carbs and rebuilt the front brake and it runs like a champ. Here she is after some cleaning up.
And with a new seat and gauges
Here's my other project - a 1970 Honda CL175
