On a sidenote, the bridgestone battlax tires i put on my xb12r are AWESOME. The triple compound is great and there is so much grip. I havn't drug any knees with them yet since the roads are still shittay, but just after scrubbing them in and doing some canyon riding I can tell I like them.

Triple compound tires are the way, in this day and age at least.

The STT is a blast. My dad had one--my wife and I rode it away from our wedding reception. Fun bike.

I noticed one of these in the upper-management vehicle storage area today. I know nothing about it.

I rode the Versys again today. It's kind of an endearing little bike. It sounds stupid, and isn't fast by any stretch of the imagination, but it's fun to ride. Interstingly, I was thinking before I opened this thread that it's closer to the XB12STT than the Uly. Then you posted one.

I think after I sell the Versys I'll build a motor for my Miata and put an LT-R450 motor in my little brother's CB200 and ride it for a while. In the mean time I've been whoring it out to every dork on CL with a Ducati/ Aprilia/ Triumph under $6k within 400 miles. I'd really like to get an RSV1000R and a couple dollars for it, but I don't see that happening in real life, lol.

The HP2 was supposed to be an engineering tour de force/ ultimate boxer sport bike. It kind of ended up just another goofy BMW boxer thing. And they sound stupid because even fire twins just sound like big singles. And they still bang heads, and try to climb the ring gear/ straighten up on the throttle, and have really strange front end feel like every other BMW boxer with shaft drive, a longitudinal crank and silly unilever suspension.

Id still ride it. I bet its cool.

See if you can figure out who it is and see if he wants to swap straight for a Kawasaki Versys, lol.

Just bought a new (to me) bike this week as sort of an impulse buy. Have wanted another bike as fuel prices continue to climb and my old car's mileage decreases, but honestly had something a little less "sporty" in mind. Couldn't pass up at the price, though.

2002 Kawasaki ZX12R. Came with a brand new battery, battery tender, front and rear stands, Alpinestars jacket, icon boots, icon helmet, and tank bag. Needs to be cleaned, replacement chain, and some upper fairing repair. Previous owner knocked it over in his garage and broke the right hand mirror and top corner of the upper fairing off, going to see if I can repair with the mad skills I learned from my last POS bike. Plan is to ride for a couple months and sell for maximum profit!

A few days ago I was at work browsing craigslist and came across an '05 KLR250. Called the guy up, took a long lunch to go look at it and ended up buying it. The thing is pretty beat up and ugly with 28k miles on it, but it runs like a champ. The guy had a lot of paperwork on it from a recent rebuild.

Picture this, but considerably uglier:

Quite a few people have Buells on here. Color me jealous.

Figure I'd share my bike. 1996 Kawasaki ZX-6R streetfighter, bought it when I was 14 years old for $600 totaled, bought another for $200 totaled, cut two apart, built one. Total expense ~$900

We've been through a lot. She's been downed by my friend before I even crashed it. Then a year later I got hit by a deer on it. Still haven't put more than another couple hundred into it in repairs over the years, as you can probably see.

Well, the Daytona is no more... Someone decided they loked it more than I did and stole it. Hopefully it can be recovered. If not I'll only get another Daytona if it's the SE. If nothing else I'll probably go to a cbr.

Add another Buell to that list. I've got a 2009 1125R; it's a great bike. Quite a contrast to my chopper. The 1125R is really an amazing bike, which marked Eric Buell's departure from the Harley derived powerplants of the earlier models, instead featuring a badass Rotax built, water-cooled and fuel injected motor. (Rotax also makes motors for Aprilia!)

I've had a bunch of bikes over the years, including a GSXR 1100 and a ZX-14, but have always had a soft spot for V-twin sport bikes, with a sick "FrankenDucati" (900SS motor in a 750SS frame with 916 plastics) and a nice Buell Lightning, but this 1125R is in a whole different league. It's not quite as hairy as the ZX-14 was, but feels faster overall. (The 14 was a beast, but too big to really ride hard in the twisties.)

Here are my current bikes-
