The "non-turbo projects" thread got me thinking about a garage thread. Some of us seem to have it all, while others are on jack stands in the complex parking lot. Definitely impacts the difficulty of the project. So if you've got some pics of your "garage", throw 'em up and show off or show down! :bigtu:

Here's mine circa 1926, detached, wood frame, just barely a two car garage. Absolutely freezing on a cold day as there's nothing but clapboard siding on the studs and it's really too small to work on the car with door closed. Yes, that means your feet get wet if you're working on the car and it's raining.

I started autocrossing my 91 Miata right after we moved in, so everything has been worked on in it from the C-stock Miata to the Grand Am Miata. And a lot of parts left behind along the way. ;) Upgrades include a concrete floor, removing the center support structure for single beam across and a single opening, adding a garage door, alarm and electrical.

Almost finished with a shed behind it, so that'll free up some space. I can move things like the yard equipment, engine hoist and spares out!

clan that fucker up man.

cjernigan 03-11-2007 04:42 PM

All kinds of good stuff in there. Organized messes are a pain, but hey long as you know where it is and no one else does they can't borrow it right?

VRTSid 03-11-2007 05:59 PM

heres the little bit of mine.

welcome to my room

jesus christ you guys have alot of shit

boostinsteve 03-11-2007 07:50 PM

My garage is just a carport. If my landlord lets me buy this place I am going to redo it and enclose it on the sides, put doors on it and put a lift in the first bay.

m2cupcar 03-11-2007 09:56 PM

If I'm headed out to the garage, you can bet I'll be working on the car before I clean it up. The Miata stuff has been accumulating since 1992. VRTSid - is the a public storage "garage"?

nester 03-11-2007 10:00 PM

Don't have a garage at home... but here's my 2nd home (aka work)

http://www.zeropointindustries.net/g...1727.sized.jpg

m2cupcar 03-11-2007 10:07 PM

view from your 2nd bed? ;) yeah- I'd say you don't need a garage.

nester 03-11-2007 10:15 PM

I actually sleep on a couple of the big bags of packing peanuts from U-Line.. It's amazing how little you notice the noise of peanuts after a long day.. ;)

magnamx-5 03-11-2007 10:24 PM

yeah to bad you dont keep many turbos in stock over the holidays. oh well i found one anyway. Nice garage nester. ZPI is moving up in the world.
BTW did you ever sell the shinsen?

Pitlab77 03-12-2007 12:15 AM

ill snap one tomorrow

nester 03-12-2007 10:23 AM

nah its just a small 1 car under my roomates apartment.
our house is weird its a duplex with a 3 car garage with an apartment on top.

my garage is usually very clean and very organized. but I took pics mid stream of my install so everything is pulled out. in fact I was pulling the car out to sweep because I was tired of laying on metal shavings and screws.

m2cupcar 03-12-2007 02:02 PM

that's my excuse: "I'm not finished."

samnavy 03-18-2007 03:22 PM

That small Craftsman workbench up front is for sale on Craigslist... as soon as it's gone, I'm going with a 7' countertop and deep-sink.
Those tall white cabinets I bought from Lowes... THEY SUCK, build your own.

4 New ES100's to replace the worn ones I am driving on

Damn, I want a cool garage. I have a carport with a tarp over it which just barely fits both of my miatas (ive swapped paint on the fenders a few times lol). Not only that but the concrete is really bumpy and always dirty from tracking in mud from the alley. However its better than being on the front driveway.

anyways heres a few pics i got on photobucket

holy freaking huge pictures! Seriously those need to be resized to like 800x600 or something because theres no need for great detail in most of em.

Looks like you got the GForce KDW's topped with Gforce sports. I got the sports on my stock miata and love em, good tires mang. Out of curiousity, which tire do you like better for the dry?

I noticed that as well as I have the KDWs on mine and they are an awesome tire.

sbrian2 03-21-2007 08:56 AM

These are just what I have on the computer, mostly car shots that show the garage in the background. If you notice in the last shot, I have many tires too. I have a rack that stores 3 full sets and next to it are 2 more sets stacked. All are mounted one wheels except one set! :eek5:

That's a nice spacious garage. And I like the side entry so nobody is peering in as they drive by. Good for the front view of the house.

I remember when I got a tire deal from Toyo- they shipped me 32 tires at once. :eek3: No room in the garage, so I stuffed them in the basement, so you can imagine what the house smelled like for the next week.

It ain't big enough, but are they ever? I still get the peers as people drive by. My house is on a curve as the attached photo shows. I have very little privacy due to the lay of the house and the curve and am considering building a detached garage or car port at the end of the drive with a brick and wrought iron courtyard around my patio area to give us some privacy if we are on the patio.

batting .500...
the bottom are KDW2's but the top are Hankook RS2's.

Here's a GFprce Sport:
http://www.tirerack.com/images/tires...port_ci2_l.jpg

The KDW2s suck balls in the dry. They're hard like bricks even with a 50 series sidewall and they dont have anywhere near the grip of the best summer tires. RS2 wins--even with only a few miles on them. Still like the Azenis RT615 best though.

sb you must live in the country (farm land? no trees) because that's a lot of property- enough to build garage that'd make your house look small :D

It feels like the country because it used to be farm land, but it is just outside the city limits of Murfreesboro (population 70,000+) and less then 20 miles from Nashville. Country feel + convenience FTW!! We have just over an acre and I'd love to build a huge garage, but the restrictions limit detatched buildings to 800 sq. ft. and they must be 80% brick to match the house.

y8s 03-21-2007 12:34 PM

can you build three 800 sf garages and link them by walk ways?

GTS Miata 03-21-2007 12:53 PM

Here is a picture of my one car garage at my old apartment complex:

and here is part of the garage at my new house:
