There is a city in GA, just NE of Atlanta (in the metro area) that for decades had a special law on the books: Every household was required to have a firearm. Result: Lowest murder rate in the US. 1 gun related homicide in 30 years.

Come on now. If I have a weapon and someone comes into a room with 2 pistols and a shotgun, it doesn't take superpowers to shoot the person. How many times do random killings like this happen in police stations??? Ummm Never. Why? Cause everyone knows all the cops have guns. Duh!
imagine a classroom of run-of-the-mill 18-24 year old community college kids all with guns. some of those people can have clean records and be pretty damn stupid. frankly I'd rather run into a police station brandishing a weapon. they might actually hold back.

BTW: Crime rates are higher in KCs richer areas than the ghettos. Poor people don't have anything to steal, and most of the rich bitches around here think they're secure enough just living in their little gated community thats never closed.
Gun control is a joke. Take all the tools away from honest people like myself so the police and criminals are the only ones with the guns. Cause you know, here my stand on like 'assault weapons ban' which was a ******* joke to begin with... You can ban highcap magazines, but I might still have some anyway, and its not like they're that hard to buy new even banned. The left-libtards are trying to make it look like people are handing out Fully automatic AR15s to little kiddies on the corner when thats not even close. Check the statistics on number of violent crimes with an assault rifle and I guarantee they're nothing near that of a 9mm pistol. If I wanted to do so, I could kill people just as efficiently with a ******* pencil as I could an assault rifle, handgun, deer rifle, shotgun, or ******* zip gun for that matter.

People in this debate stand behind the idea that there are bad *** criminals that will carry guns no matter the laws, and good upstanding citizens who will only carry if the laws allow. With nothing in between.
Sure the bad asses will carry no matter what, but what about the purse snatcher or car thief who never would have carried, but now the ante has been upped, and he must now carry a weapon in order to carry on making a living.
So really you aren't just arming the good citizens, but also arming the no so good ones. And you are arming the stupid and reckless. Not to mention what this does to the cops, now they have to assume that anyone they meet is potentially a cop killer and most certainly armed. When you get pulled over for speeding does the cop approach your vehicle with a gun drawn? Hand on it? Here they never do.
This is a fun debate, I like it.

It all falls back to education on guns and dumb asses in the world. Guns are not the issue with the uprage in violance. People have no discipline anymore. When I grew up if you acted up you got a woopen on the spot.
That isn't beatings. That is discipline. You thought twice before you acted up again. Now people just tell there kids to go in the corner. And then the kid screams and hits them.
Same thing with violance, Some extreme things like robbing at gun point, hostages, or shooting at school should be instant death. Don't give them 5 hours to talk down and give chance to get arrested. Just send in SWAT and SHOOT they're ***.
It works in other countries why not here! This country has too many bleeding hearts. Eye for an eye.........
I know this will send some people in a frienzy.
As much as we have pissed off other countries, if someone invaded us at least we could fight as a whole. Rather than just be slottered. Im from a military family my mind won't be changed. US Army, Marines, Navy,and Air Force, you name it we have been a part.

Do you believe the people you teach don't deserve an education due to their mental retardation.
We've not had any shootings on campus. Minor property crime and public drunkeness are the norm. So how will arming a largely immature student body make it safer than it already is? Oh wait, it won't because you are talking out of your ***. **** out campus security only carry pepper spray (to which I thank god, since they are a bunch of idiots too).
In Texas, I could park at my university with my gun in the car (just like everyone else.) Our campus security had guns, and we had about 30,000 students as well. We also had no campus shootings! Hmmmm, how could that be? I even knew one off-duty officer who was a student that carried his gun to class. Still... No shootings.
This maybe true of someone that is intending to live out there little mass murder, but how many of these guys end up shooting themselves in the head as an ending to their little show? Nobody involved in these shootings intends to live beyond running out of bullets.

guesse you have never been in a bad postion. if you make it KNOWN you have a gun, people change their tone really quick. just placing it on the dashboard where the person/people that plan on doing harm SEE you do it goes a LONG way. it has saved me and my dads asses a few times while working (repoing cars). the people that was going to try and take a car back or even the car and the repo truck suddenly just turn and walk away.
