Default MT.net Motorcycle Thread

I don't think we have one, so here we go.
Every forum I'm on has tons of biker lovers, and the threads are absolutely great.

I'm not a huge bike fanatic or track junkie like some here, but I love my bikes. Been riding (friends bikes) for a few years, but only got my own last year. 07 kawi 500r. LOVED IT aside from it being carburated. Perfect "beginner/middleweight" bike all around by far IMHO.

Just picked up a Triumph TT600. Its a beast up top, but lacks the grunt down low, so I don't think I'll be riding it too long. Maybe a year maybe less. Ultimately I want an 08+ SV650 or 06-08 Kawi 650r. Something light, nimble, and with midrange.

blablablah enough about my mediocre ****,

LETS SEE YOUR BIKES GAYS!!!

I know someone has an sv here, and I know Stein has a SEXY *** Daytona 675

Who else has what else?
Who likes what?
Who wants what dream bike?

Lately I've been watching video's of turbo busas and r1's. It seriously makes me laugh hysterically over how ridiculous those are

Awesome thread, good first post too. I started riding dirtbikes when I was 14 or so, and got my first streetbike a Ninja500 when I was 18, rode that for 3 years before picking up my Buell xb12s. I also love light, torquey, flickable bikes. You should check out Buell, don't write one off until you actually get to ride one. They are surprisingly VERY affordable right now, even for an 1125r. I rode my first one last year and fell completely in love, sold my ninja immediately, and bought my current project bike. The other bike I ride is a 883 sporster. Its pretty much a bobber right now, and I have plans to do it up dirt track/cafe racer style with a 1250 kit.

Sorry for lower q pics, Iphone pics are all I've got.

My old Ninja 500ex, next to my brothers new (to him) Buell XB12r

My new buell, not even unloaded from the truck yet. I have big plans for her.

Pic of a local cyclone owners bike next to my brothers buell.

Random pics from that meet.

Heres a few of my favorite drool worthy bikes.

This is the color scheme I may go with on my XB, I already have the translucent orange wheels.

MMM... Rc51 although I prefer black ones.

1125r, my fave colors.

I love twins..

My one and only bike:

I've been fortunate enough to ride the following though:
2001 R1
1500cc Harley Sportster
2006 Kawasaki 650r
2010 Brammo Enertia
2005 Buell Blast
2009 Ninja 250r

All have been great fun. I'd love to have a modern bike for it's reliability and ease of use, but I'm not sure I'd fall in love with it like I have with my current bike.

Bikes that make me fap? Just saw this on HD theater's Cafe Racer show.

And any other old cafe racer. I'm favorite are the new Ducatis:

And Suzuki's 1135r:

My first bike was a '97 600F3, don't have a pic of my exact bike online but was this one, but with a D&D pipe, etc.

When I graduated college I promptly got my '02 ducati monster s4 senna. Sold it after 10k miles...all the local ducati dealerships closed up and paying a far dealer to do the 10k valve service...plus all the other electrical issues I decided to sell it. Miss it sooooo much.

I've been looking to get something for a while now, SV1000 probably. My dad has a carb'ed SV650 which is an incredible bike. But my brother's buddy just picked up a buell xb12s? (lowered version??) for DIRT cheap, as mentioned earlier. I might look into that.

It's actually on the trailer right now. Last trackday of the season is tomorrow.

After that, I'm parting it out and selling it. Already sold the slipper clutch. After the last trackday two weeks ago and watching seven people pile up their bikes Saturday and six Sunday, I decided that $10K is more than I want to risk tossing down the track so I'm selling it, buying an older CBR that is an ex-rack bike and has all of the mods that I want for $3400 and a V-Strom for a DD. I have two miles of gravel before I hit pavement and it's a white knuckle ride on the Daytona so the V-Strom with dirt tires will be a great DD for me. Plus, the total of the two bikes will be less than the Daytona.

Don't own a motorcycle, and have never ridden. It's a huge temptation for me, but because of an extended family member's death on a motorcycle, I've basically decided to keep my gearhead energy directed at cars. However, if I stumbled on a stupidly good deal on one of these, I might just buy it now and keep it hidden:
