May I ask why you went with the inline thermostat if you are using the Skou spacer and Kia neck? Maybe I've missed something but I thought it was a good thing to run the thermostat on the back of the block. Will have to read some more.....

Having the thermostat on the back of the block is the best for response. Using an in-line thermostat makes it more accessible and convenient. If you're okay with a harder to reach thermostat housing, back of the head is ideal.

A short update after running the car all year on the new setup. Winter maintenance to include a trans rebuild (6spd), new turbo-downpipe hardware, and cam seals. Some mild aero stuff, too, so I can work the competition a little better in my regional time attack/fast autox series. Placed 3rd in class this year behind an NC and a Z06; here's a video from one event this past season. Run on a defunct NASCAR oval + infield road course. Different course each time, sometimes infield, sometimes oval, once in a while both. Pretty fun, huge turnout most events (150+ drivers), and most importantly, cheap fun.
I can't remember how to embed the youtube player... We bought a dyno for the shop, had an employee dyno day last Friday. I put down 303whp/292wtq SAE corrected on the Dynojet. 6000' elevation, 1.8L, GT2560R, e85. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...d96893f600.jpg |
Nice, you got that thing at full tilt. Why so rich afr tho?
|
I think the wideband sensor is no good on the dyno. Everyone else had super rich readings, too. My log shows mid 11s. Which is still pretty fat for ethanol, but for some reason my car does not like to get into the 12:1 range.
And yeah to full tilt. Anything more and it starts to sound like it is coming apart. |
Hey Matthew, long time no talk. You still have this car?

But I'm never here as you can plainly see. Light maintenance stuff today and a quick run up the parkway for kicks. Thought I'd dip in to see who's still breathing. |

Glad you are still kickin'! You still in NC? Ever go to MATG?
Approaching five years here with the intention of only staying one. You need to roll out here for that event, or just any time, and run all these roads. So much goodness in a 100mi radius it's hard to choose sometimes. |
