My new DD
Sure the miata is fun as hell but driving a 6 puck 5spd in stop and go traffic gets kinda old. Got it for a great deal. Gonna be paying for it for the next 3 years though :(
2001, 105k, Auto, leather. It's an awesome car in every way (we have 2 of these now). Of course after it's paid off im gonna boost it :) http://img397.imageshack.us/img397/3525/mylexuseb7.jpg |
are the TEAM RUSH forums more important than this one? why you be hatin and post it there first? :vash: nice car though!

I'd love to have one of those.

wait maybe that V8 one was the Rod Millen one. it was black/red paint right?
I love the chrome ball shifter in those. I wish I could find a setup just like that for the Miata. It's the perfect size for me.
you can probably score that v8 cheaper than the 2jz motor.
The '01s still had the I6, hard to have a better starting point for a turbo build. My father had a '92 SC300 (originally N/A and 5-spd) single-turboed and tuned for a very conservative 400 whp with a 6-spd Getrag and something like a 3.3 rear end for better highway cruising. The Lexus V8 is nice but 2JZ is still the shizz. Even after 165,000 original miles, when the motor was pulled for the turbo work you could still see the factory honing marks on the cylinder walls. Burned a quart every thousand miles through the valve seals though LOL.
I really like the IS300, I wanted to get one awhile back but couldent afford it then.
i've started on the claybarring. it's a TOTAL bitch b/c the paint (while looking awesome) is FULL of contaminants. I'll take pics when I get 'er all purty.
Bump for more pics. Congrats on the new purchase!!
I miss mine.
IMO that car was perfect for commuting and tracking - quick and easy to drive quick. May not have the power of others, but the brakes and handling were all there:

I had an IS300:
Pro: Great car, reliable etc. Looked great w/ a kit and rims as a DD Con: No powerband at all. Bad gas mileage Most 01's required LSD upgrade later Turboing for real power meant swapping bottom ends and internals All that said, I'd DD it again if I had no worries about snow. http://photos-e.ak.facebook.com/phot...48692_5804.jpg |
i still am considering getting one for a DD only...i've always wanted one, i think they are very nice
