I changed the tranny fluid to genuine honda mtf yesterday then filled the tank again. I won't have a measured result until I get home from work to fill it again, but the preliminary result is good. Its about 58 mi exactly from my house to work and the drive here caused the gas needle to barely drop, way less than the past 2 days. I'm going to go ahead and estimate 50+mpg now. Possible 55+mpg but I'm not gonna get too excited yet.

fix the brake lights?

neogenesis2004 03-05-2009 11:41 AM

Ya I did, the prev owner put in a single filament bulb that was contacting the right contact for the brakes to work and worked during inspection. However once I got it on the road is shifted enough to bridge the two contacts, taillight running light and brake light, causing the brake lights to come on with the other lights. I just got a new set of dual filament bulbs and swapped them in. Works like a champ now. Also replaced the brake light sensor at the pedal because it was comepletely broken off. No clue how they were working or where that sensor went....I don;t even care to think about it though, it works now!

sweet

neogenesis2004 03-05-2009 11:21 PM

50MPG, its official. Who would think tranny fluid could cost you 10mpg.... I'm gonna pick up a new o2 sensor tomorrow and look into the hot air intake as well. Then I need to get some cleaned and flowed stock injectors for as cheap as possible. I've already replaced the fuel filter and pcv. All these things together I estimate will get me right near 60mpg. FTMFW!!!!!!!

is tranny fluid like motor fluid? What about radiator fluid?

Fuck, I want a CRX.

neogenesis2004 03-06-2009 09:10 AM

WTF are you rambling about? I expect coherent sentences in my threads, even from you!

MattEGTR 03-09-2009 01:03 AM

If you want 13s that will clear those brakes, there's always the VPDs...

Nice DD, I'm jealous.

neogenesis2004 03-09-2009 06:46 AM

Those are still 7.5" wide wheels, which defeats the whole purpose of small wheels on a high mpg car. I might look into some HX rims. They fit with a little caliper grinding apparently.

stretch some 175s on them???

neogenesis2004 03-09-2009 11:05 AM

The civic HX rims are like 14x5.5. I could get those and pic up some 165s. In all honesty though, I'm getting 50mpg on what I have so I'm probably gonna keep them until the tires need to be replaced at the least. The tires are brand new, so that a while.

Durrrrrrr, forgot about that, sorry

I'm jealous. I'd love to have something that got that kind of mileage in the winter. You'll probably even do a couple mpg better once it gets warmer out, too! When you say 50mpg, how fast are you going?

neogenesis2004 03-09-2009 01:43 PM

55-60mph, i get less on the interstate. Around 45mpg avg going 65-70mph

neogenesis2004 03-09-2009 05:42 PM

So with 1/2 tank left I have 230mi on the trip clock. With a 9.5Gal tank, you do the math. That is 1 trip to work - 110mi, a trip to dahlgren va to pick up seats - 50mi, and the rest is city driving - 70mi. Not bad averaging ~48mpg...

Braineack 03-09-2009 09:17 PM

My H22 made 29.5mpg this weekend.
