My new Ride
3 Attachment(s)
Just purchased a one owner 92 with 37,400 miles. Flying out next weekend to drive it back. Can't wait!
White 92 with hardtop and new Robbins Glass Window soft top JRSC (I know, wrong FI-hopefully, y'all will still help me upgrade it) Jackson Racing front and rear bars Jackson Racing header Panasport 15x7's (I like the period look) Interior is mint-has had seat covers on since 93 or so. Nice CD player, amp and speakers so I don't have to mess with that. Body has three dings, two of which he had to really point out to me. No rock chips in the bumper cover. It's really clean. Engine bay is spotless. The car came with (but never installed) new smaller "Tony" pulley, Bipes and high pressure Walbro fuel pump. I need to upgrade the stock boost, but will start a new thread in the SC forum. Attachment 213493 Attachment 213494 Attachment 213495 |
Damn that thing's clean! What you give for it?
|
Well, mods can kill this thread. I guess I am back in the market. The seller has just emailed me that he decided that he is not going to honor our agreement and sell me the car. He just decided that he can't let it go for $7K. All I have is a verbal agreement, as I was IN THE HOSPITAL having surgery when he called me and told me that he accepted my offer and didn't need a deposit due to my situation. Didn't even have the guts to call me.

nice

Sucks. You'll find another, cheaper.
|
DAM man that sucks. That looks like a fun miata to play with.
|
Id say anything over 7'gs is to much.
|
Ditto. You'll find another one for cheaper that you can make your own.
Very clean though. :) Goodluck! Vash- |

^Dont you just want to beat the crap out of him:)

Guess I better change my sig.:bang:
Anyone have a nice turbo Miata for sale in the $7-8K range in the Midwest? I got the itch and the cash. |
Ain't that a motherfucker. That's a suhweeeeet looking ride. Finding another one in that kind of shape, with those mods.... doubtfull.
So how much does he want now? C |
definitely shitty, good luck in the search

C Don't know exactly. He just sent me a link to a 92 in CA with a SC with the same miles on cars.com that is listed for $8900. I was nice, and just emailed him back and said I understand and that I have already restarted my search elswhere and to call me if he changes his mind. He told me when I saw the car Wednesday that he had "a lot of interest". When I asked how many had actually come out to see the car, well, I was the only one. If he wants to hang out with the internet jockeys and picture collectors, fine with me. I am not going to get into the game of bidding myself up. |
^Well played. As long as it's not on Miata.net, with all those maniacs, I doubt he'll get many serious people with the money to buy the car.
If I were you, I'd tell him that you're willing, ready, and able to pick up the car NOW, and that you have the money. Money talks. Bullshit walks. C |
He knows I have the cash. I spent three hours there talking with him and his wife. In fact, he called ME this morning to see if I was coming next Saturday to pick up. He says he doesn't have another buyer and I don't think he does. I may be able to get it for another $500, but it is the principle. We had a deal and he broke it. It needs tires, brakes need a bit of work, but nothing major.
It's listed on miata.net and has been there for three weeks. No interest. He has it listed for $8k. I think he just doesn't want to sell it now. He has had it since new 11/91 and I don't think he wants to let go. He just bought a new 07 Boxter S and never drives the Miata. His wife has been ragging to let it go. I think it is more important than the $. That's why it's at $8K. He knows he isn't likely to get a full price buyer, so he can tell the wife that it just isn't moving. |
Call his wife and ask why he backed out of the agreement at 7K. Bet you get it then.

Just missed a 99 in Kansas City on ebay. Bid $6400 with 30 sec to go and it went for $6500. |
Agreed - play the wife card. I bought my 95 R package for $2,500. His wife was pushing him to sell the car.

always remeber, 95% of women dont have a good taste for cars, i mean you dont let them buy and build your car, would they let you buy anddecorate the house?>
|
Now that we can see how clean the car is,which it is, i'd go no higher then $6500. It's still a 92 Miata. KBB retail is still only $4575... and thats WITH the hard top. It is VERY rare to make money back on mods. Hell, i sold my 99 that was supercharged, intercoolerd, oversized crank pulley, TDR 62mm s/c pulley, full suspension setup, rollbar, new clutch 4.1 Torsen from a 96, new clutch, garage vary bumper, carbon fiber hood, new speakers and amp (no subs), and TONs of other mods.... and the car only had 100k mi (under "average"). You know how much i sold it for? $7000. Right at what KBB Retail was on the car. I could have been a prick and held out and tried to get money back on my mods.... but God knows how long it would have taken. I was very attached to that car too... but when you move onto better things, it's time to just let the old stuff go and not treat it like gold.

he is gonna end up sellinh the boxter and keep the miata, lol
email a guy named borkap here, he has one he is selling, very fast car and looks stock hardtop, hard dog roll bar, AVO t-28 kit, link 2 sets of wheels, etc., just email him |

I decided I'm just going to build my own. More expensive, but more fun! Now that I sold my Locost project, I need something to do. |
