Project "MX520" TOP SECRET - Ratsun Forums

Here's an interesting build you guys should like. Basically the guy takes an old datsun pick-up and puts a miata engine in it along with the miata subframes and suspension.

He then takes it to the track and embarasses people.

He happens to be an excellent driver, he won the SCCA T3 National Championship in one of our team cars, but the truck seems pretty quick in its own right.

Enjoy

There are 101 different drivetrains I would pick over ours, especially without a turbo.

He probably did it because its cheap and has good suspension components to use

an F20C would be waaay better, but also waaay more expsive

Kinda creepy seeing the miata engine bay and interior in the pickup, he definitely didn't just use suspension and engine in that truck, a lot of sheet metal as well.

I think he chose the miata because he is familiar with it. He has a spec miata that his son races. He's also building a miata suspended f20c powered 510 wagon. The thread is on the same site but the build just started.

Yea it's a pretty cool forum. I've always liked Datsuns but it's hard to find clean ones in the midwest.

Efini, thanks for that link. I probably would have never come across this excellent project.

Very, very cool.
