Just "picked" this Miyata up.... delivered LOL.
Thought it was funny that a buddy brought me this bike from a yard sale because of the name. Going to rebuild it to huck around. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1374160767 Roadie project by Shlammed, on Flickr https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1374160767 Roadie project by Shlammed, on Flickr https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1374160767 Roadie project by Shlammed, on Flickr https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1374160767 Roadie project by Shlammed, on Flickr Just want to ride it. No real crazy paint/fixie crap. Needs: Brake pads Tires Seat chain New cables so I don't die and derailleur cables so the chain doesn't come off. Cleaned up some of the parts on it... http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3794/9...5b7e7297_c.jpg Miyata build by Shlammed, on Flickr |
How much did he pay for it? Miyata frames run the gamut from solid low-end stuff to seriously nice. That one looks pretty nice -- lugged joints and all, triple-butted tubes.
EDIT: Looks like the 110 was one step up from the bottom line Miyata. Should be comfy geometry, good quality, but not racy or lightweight. Perfect for a beater/townie build. |
Got this and another similar bike (complete, supposed to be for parts) for $20
Going to just sell the other bike or let the wife use it and buy the stuff I need new. |

Tires for the bike-more than the cost of the bike. LOL smilar to my other miata.
Just picked up some Continental Ultra Sports (with tubes and rim tape). Not much selection of tires for the 27" wheels but I only need 1 set. Generic picture. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1374513890 I wanted to get tires for these before i ruined the rim from wheeling it around without tires on it (under its own weight). I didnt want to scratch it so that brake pads would turn into dust. Things on my short list: -brake pads (maybe get some new calipers but im not sure...need to research more to see if what I have will be enough) -rear derailleur-the one on this bike was bent -chain -rear shifter cable -brake cables not too bad. hope to have the bike riding by the end of the month. Im also repacking the bearings in the bottom bracket and the original pedals. |

Not sure if people care, but I will post it here anyways.
put the tires on last night and put pedals on to see how it rolls compared to my "fat" tire (2.35" knobbys) mtb. going to be a whole different type of beast, thats for sure. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1374581737 Untitled by Shlammed, on Flickr |
