My track shoes are:

Asics wrestling shoes. Dirt cheap on ebay and actually look kinda nice. Gives you a great feel, some of you should try them out. Sure, they aren't flame retarded but at least they're cheap. :ugh2:

Braineack 01-15-2008 10:22 PM

puma speedcats.

mr_mazda329 01-15-2008 10:25 PM

Mine are my Gov't issued steel toed combat boots.

JK, I got me some pumas too

cjernigan 01-15-2008 10:26 PM

LA Geat $10 special at TJ Maxx. They look like the adidas goodyear driving style shoe. Just not $80 like the adidas ones.

miataz 01-15-2008 10:28 PM

puma FTW

thesnowboarder 01-15-2008 10:37 PM

I have a pair of wrestling shoes for karting. Love them. Haven't tried them in the Miata, though; always been afraid of the sole not being wide enough to heel-toe.

I find it easier to heel toe with the asics because the heel is actually smaller. :D

cjernigan 01-15-2008 11:02 PM

Heard that. I hate driving with normal shoes in the miata. It's a real trying to get on the brake while pushing the gas at the same time (without the clutch depressed). The narrow LAs i have solved that for me. Maybe one day i'll get some real driving shoes. These cheap ones have good hard soles and don't look bad at all though.

hustler 01-16-2008 08:59 AM

I have some old ass black speedcats which get track duty.

I always keep them in the car because I can't really drive the miata with cowboy boots.

fourwhls 01-16-2008 09:04 AM

Simpson Low tops....I have wide feet and these were the only ones I could find that fit decent. Saferacer had them on sale last year for about $50 shipped. Not the cheapest, but pretty cheap for a SFI fire retardant shoe.

I drive barefoot every so often, it hurts on long trips, but its nice when wearing sandals or something you can get on/off real nice...

I wear some old track shoes, or my Sambas when Auto-xing though.

Oscar 01-16-2008 01:50 PM

UrbanSoot 01-16-2008 01:57 PM

Oh yea, quite sure. I'm in aircraft maintanence so its madatory that we wear steel-toed boots. To help preserve our toes when they go to sew them back on (clean cut) LoL

kotomile 01-16-2008 08:49 PM

Chucks for me, usually red ones.

Exhondaman 01-16-2008 09:12 PM

Timberland shit-kickers. I can heel-toe with my LEFT foot.

cant use normal shoes, they wont fit and when i hit the break it revs the car because im hitting the gas at the same time aha(size 13.5), so pumas all the way, the swedes waring off gotta look for some new ones.

Bryce 01-17-2008 02:14 AM

Howdy

Shieet. I figured the first page was the last page....

I hate having wide feet, its tough getting my foot down onto the dead pedal without hitting the clutch.

BenR 01-17-2008 04:40 AM

I got 3 pairs or track only shoes currently that I use for different things.

Old set of piloti dtm if I'm going to need to walk and wrench on a car but still need something nomex for tech compliance when driving.

Sparco speedways if I'm going to be primarily in the car for an extended amount of time and need something nomex.

Adidas goodyear if I don't need nomex.

I rock speedcats every day and they make my feet hurt sometimes, definitely not that good for walking in. I bought 4 pairs (1 high top) back when they were made. I wear those bitches until they fall apart.
