Default MSM with Emanage Ultimate (noob)

Hi all
Just signed up to the forum. I own a MSM and just purchased a Greddy Emanage Ultimate. I have very limited knowledge of the system so will probably ask a stupid question or two here and there. I'll be lurking around looking for information before asking questions that may have been already answered. First question however is...is there a place to download the emanage ultimate software free or cheap. I bought the unit off ebay and it didn't come with sofware.

i know this is a crazy idea but have you tried typing the words

"e manage ultimate software download" into google and clicking on some links? specifically the second one that leads to this page:

http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/

cuz it's on there with every other piece of info you'd need. bookmark!

good luck with it.

come on matt, he couldn't even put his emanage question in the emanage section. so there's not even a remote chance he's got tough stuff like google figured out yet.

Thanks for the hardy welcome guys. Y8s, thanks for the link. Ben, I apoligize for posting in the wrong section, however, just because I'm a noob to your site does not mean I'm a noob to the internet. In the future I will make it a point to post in proper the place and not ask question you deem not worthy.

Hey steph!! you're here too? I frequent many car sites since I have interest in both domestic and imports. I'm use to the "beat down the noob" thing.

I have a buddy in Dallas with an EMU which is not working for spark. He's stuck with it, and about to move on from it. I started a thread a while ago in the emanage forum.

does he have his ignition jumper set for the correct voltage? If he's really frustrated, he could drive over to houston and let our guys fix it. We are emanage experts.

Would you be able to offer any advice on auto tuneing? I'll have my wideband 02 next week and it's not that clear to me how to use autotune. Also, any chance you might have any MAPS I could use?

The only autotune stuff in EMU that I know of, is the A/F Target table. Set the table to your recommended AFR's and pipe the wideband into the input of the EMU. You'll need to configure the wideband so that the EMU is setting the correct AFR. It's also recommended that your fuel tables be fairly close to tuned, so that the EMU is not making crazy changes to try and hit the targets.

I am not a huge fan of autotune, I find that it's generally faster to just tune it, save it, and drive it.

I don't have any EMU maps for a MSM, I only ran the blue on my NB (non-msm) before I stepped up to hydra.. The power difference overnight was pretty amazing.

So basically, If a take a target AF map I got from someone else and create target AF table (cut paste), then I install the WB 02, the EMU will do it's best to maintain it? The only thing I'm planning to do with auto tune is get my injectors installed, and get everthing running decent. Then I will take it to a shop and have it tuned.

It really shouldn't take any competent shop more than a hour or two on a dyno to get the car ironed out. It's a piggyback not a full ems, there's not a whole lot of tuning to be done.

If you have a reasonably close map from another MSM with the same mods, then by all means, start there and go from there, but the AF target is really intended to make up for small variances like temperature changes (since the MAF is not going to compensate well) but not to make up massive holes in the map.

If you have a big lean spot, you can always go in and add a bunch of fuel in the affected cell and it's neighbors until you can get to a tuner.
