Need a good custom (not harley) motorcycle shop!
Any one know of a good shop in DC/VA/MD that does custom motorcycle work?
I'm looking to get some serious mods done to my VF1000 Interceptor... either that or it's time for a new bike.... I just don't know if getting a new FZ1 or SV1000S would be a better choice than a really nicely modded VF1000 Mark |

what are you looking for in a bike and what are the shortcoming of the vf, i'm not really familiar with those things i'm a supersport guy

FZ1 no doubt. Although suzuki does make some nice bikes.

Really, why do you say that? I'm starting to think that the new bike is the better choice too.

I kinda agree. Keep the old VF. I'm kinda partial to older motorcycles myself though. About to roll over 40,000 on my Ninja.
http://www.jugrnot.com/CRW_3801-2.jpg 1993 Ninja 600E1 2004 GSX600R Mirrors, K&N, Yosh R&D Full exhaust, 145 Jets, Titanium needles, 15/50 520 sprockets Dynoed 98rwhp and will do 168mph. Only real negative is it weighs 420 pounds dry, but that doesn't stop me from riding the wheels off. Raced my best friends 2005 600RR on a 45mph rollon and I wasn't even maybe half a bike length behind by 140mph. |
i had a 02 zx9r, had 36k when i traded it in on my 06 gixxer. get a new bike, i was just blown away by how much better of a bike it is in every aspect. and i had rode a few 98-00 bikes, i though they rode like crap, nothing compares to how much better the bikes get every year.

The brakes are a little unsettling too, although the steel braided lines cured much of that, they still lack a bit. I love the torque and smoothness of the V4, it's comfortable on longer trips. The motor in mine is solid and only has 6000 miles on it. (It's a 1984 bike.) The carbs need rebuilding though, the tank needs to be resealed and I want to get it painted. Mark |
Is this a commuter bike or a weekend warrior? The SV is going to have a somewhat different character from you ole' 4-banger, but it's a helluva great everyday ride.

I'd get something a bit newer. There's just only so far you can take the old bike, especially in a cost effective way. You might want to take a look at the Honda 919.
