Need a place to stay in Atlanta Monday night.
I'll be starting my x-country drive from Norfolk to San Diego and my first stop is Atlanta. I'll need to take the 20 out of town in order to hit Meridian, MS for lunch with a buddy the next day. I'll hopefully be rolling into town around 6pm... maybe as late as 7pm. Mapquest and Google both say take the 85 to the 20. A buddy of mine said that taking the 285 around the city can be faster than driving straight through it. Anybody live close to the freeway along an acceptable route?
I require an actual bed to sleep in (at 6'4", a night on the couch means I don't walk well the next day, so I don't mind being picky). I'll buy dinner and perhaps a tasty adult beverage or two as compensation. Plus, you might get to drive my fully-loaded MS6... and by fully loaded, I mean with an extra 800lbs of my crap in the trunk and back seat. I'll wanna get on the road in the morning early enough to be out of town before traffic. PS: I'm not gay. |
whoa, a date with samnavy and he's paying?!? I might move to atlanta just so you can stay at my place!

I've gone to lunch with Sam, it's pretty exciting.

I'd offer a place to crash since I'm down on the south end of 285, but all I have available at the moment is an inflatable mattress or a couch.

Only stipulation - you'll have to wash the sheets before you leave so it's clean for the next guest. My buddy who lives up that way can get you the keys. :edit: P.S. You aren't going to want to be anywhere near Atlanta at 6pm on a weekday. And, yes take I-285 in most cases. |

Six, Jackson is too far away, but big thanks for the offer. |

Wish I had an extra bed for you man. I gotta couch!

I've got an extra bed off 75, north of town. It's a cheap Ikea mattress, so I'm not sure how well you'd sleep; I've never slept on it. My wife and I are up at 5:30am every day, so you'd be able to get out before traffic. I just got back into town, sorry I didn't see your post earlier. I'll PM you my cell in case you see this before heading out.
