Default Road Rage Story from Sat Night

Basically, a guy threw a bottle at me and my girlfriend driving back from the movies saturday night.. Prince George County as suspected.. did nothing. Here's my complaint report I filed to both PG County Police/ Council and Oversight:

Description of Incident:
At 03:00 on Sunday morning (Saturday Night) my girlfriend and I were driving home from the Bengie's drive-in movies in Essex, MD. As we drove back to Northern VA on I-95 , a car approached us at approximately 85-90 mph. It rode right up onto our bumper and tailgated. I braked and attempted to change lanes to allow it to pass. The driver changed lanes and put down his window. He proceeded to throw a bottle at our vehicle and make a specific rude gesture. I immediately captured his description, our location (exit 35), vehicle information and plates. I called 911 and was transferred to a PG county police officer. I reported the information and the officer seemed disinterested. He finally took just the tag information and told me all he could do was put a "look out" for the car. What upsets me the most about this scenario is he did not take my phone number, name, address, or any witnesses. Therefore, I know this will not be pursued. In my experience with reading these cases in the news, this is a felony charge. Certainly, in the interest of the police whose goal is to "make a difference". Certainly no difference has been made in taking an aggressive, not to mention, possibly intoxicated driver, off the streets.

If god wanted cops to protect and serve, he wouldn't have invented doughnuts. mmm doughnuts.

Glad you're ok. That's what's important.

No, but civil justice is. Didn't that bottle leave a dent and residue on your paint? Forcing you to get body repair and an expensive detail?

Just an update to the story:

After filing about 4-5 complaints a PG county Lt. emailed me and informed me that this does not fall in his jurisdiction (I-95 belongs to MD state police) and he will point me to the appropriate barracks.

I would have just pulled him over for fleeing the scene of an accident, and unsecured cargo, and public obscenity

I had the same results from calling the PD when I was being chased by a psyco a while back, except I refused to give my address to them knowing he would inevitably see it on the police report.. Not much you can do :/

Get this. I had my motorcycle stolen from a "friends" house who "sold" it for crack along with another buddies snowmobile. I had witnesses that seen the guy do it. I know who did it, where they did it, when they did it, whos truck was borrowed to do it with, where the bike was taken, and where it was at the time I reported it. They did NOTHING! I'm paying taxes why? If I go beat his *** with a bat I'll go to Jail.

I hope you track the bastard down and punch him in the dick.

Police are supposed to take that seriously, it could be some drunk bastard that is about to cause an accident. You never know though, I was going down 75 in florida, and some bastard in a truck about hit me, and the swerved back, and almost hit someone in another lane. Then the driver fell back and tailgated me for a few miles, I played along, and pulled into the emergency lane grabbed his tag. I had my wife call the *FHP number, and reported his tag number, and vehicle type, and said he was about to cause an accident. When traffic got a little better I pulled back into it, then I almost got run over by an FHP Cruiser, 3-5 minutes later I passed the jackass pulled over on the side of the road. (With 2 FHP Troopers behind him)

The moral or this story is. When some people drive like jackasses, eventually theyt get caught, you just can't expect something to happen right away. You never know, he could get pulled over somewhere else, the cop runs his tag, and your police report acts as a red flag. (Also is good ammo for testimony against him/her in court.)

I had to do a court appearance for someone I apprehended for a DUI, she pleaded not guilty. So I had to make another appearance. This time I was part of the prosecution, the prosecutor pulled up a police report done that had her vehicle, matching her vehicles description that was part of a hit and run investigation. (Also a partial tag number.) Also when she rolled up to my base, (Which she thought was a toll booth) Both tires on her driver side were flat, and her car was all fucked up like it had been in an accident. In the end she got some jail time. Police reports are worth something, it just takes time to let karma catch up with people.

The quote above is right on the mark. I too see many instances where a police report is used to strengthen another case. It might seem like no action is taken. But many times, the case against the responsible party builds in to a more serious prosecution.

Karma will catch up to you if it is bad.

However, if my life is threatened by a flying bottle, I am apt to send back some 10mm lead in self defense.

yeah MARYLAND ... why is **** always happening here... Baltimore is already closing into Detroit for the worst murder rate....

I got a story for you from yesterday. I was driving and this man was going too slow on a 2 lane (each way) road. So i accelerate while switching lanes, as i do, he comes over, without turn signal, nothing. Doesn't make an attempt to move back after i blow my horn.

Well i get behind him, and i read his bumper sticker... it reads: "Why am I the only one on the planet who knows how to drive." Ironic? heh. Glad everyone is safe though.

One thing I have realized is never rely on the cops to actually protect you. Their job is to ticket and to arrest people after a crime has been committed. The cops are not obligated to protect you by law. A friend of mine was attacked by another driver. Got his license plate, had a girl friend as a witness. The cops found the guy but ended up not doing ****.

I remember a story I read somewhere about a man calling into the police because there were men in his back yard stealing stuff out of garage or something. So he calls the police and they tell him that it could take a long time (around 30 min.) for them to arrive. Now having possibly armed men on your property, one would think the police would respond quickly. Well I guess the man who called the cops got an idea. He called the 911 again and said, "Don't bother' I shot the guys and they are already dead." Well with in a few minutes the police arrive and catch the guys. Seems the police were quick to respond after they thought the guys were already dead.

Don't get me wrong I think the Police have a hell of a job to do. They take so much **** everyday I would never want to do it. Let's not forget that the Police are to keep order and write us speeding tickets. :gay: The last thing they will do is bother to actually protect anybody. If something serious happens you will be dead by the time they ever get there.

Im with DrewBroo. Next time tell the police that you think the driver of the other car is drunk and that he is weaving back and forth. That will get the police to do something about it.
