New GTR thread.
If you build it, they will come...
Right in their pants. 480PS (about 473hp) in a car the size of a 350Z? Yeah, no one's going to buy Ferrari beating technology for half the price of a Ferrari. |
id love to get one and just drive it into a concrete wall. It can be that fastest thing on earth but it looks like ass
|
:cjerk:
|
will the drivetrain fit into a G35 with four doors? i have more than one friend with legs.
|
i think its an amazing piece of machinery.
now my broke ass will be able to buy a g35 or 350z on the cheap. its like a g35 and corvette had sex,and thats the out come.with that rear end/ tranny design. |

enzo's pretty ugly too ur right lol. GT3RS is a nice piece of machinery with the perfect balance of power and handling IMO.
|
If I had money to blow on ANY car I wanted it would always be a Pagani Zonda. On my current budget if I were buying a car right now it would be a toss up between a 350Z... which I would wait for the 370Z now... and the BMW Z4M Coupe.
|
Who will be the first to transplant that shit into a 350z... (which would be badass!)
|
I wonder if it's engine will sound as good the rb series in the old Skylines. Other than that, this looks to be one hell of a machine.
|
It's retarded and I can't believe people would want that ugly crap-turd when it's the same price as the super bad ass C6 ZR1

I would rather have a new z06 and until i seethe GTR beat it, thats where my money is. Then enzo killa
|
The design is growing on me a bit, and I think I'll reserve my judgment till I can see it in the metal. Admittedly, I tend to like the lunatic fringe of car design (eg, Modern Subarus).
I wonder how easy it'll be to make power on. If it's easy it'll definitely help the car out in internet-opinion land. |

Why are car makers replacing the front fenders with headlights?! They are like two feet long. I decided to do a quick photochop of the headlights, but I ended up doing the whole car. It looks crappy because I didn't expect to do it all, but you get the idea.
The original: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22..._226791_25.jpg My modded one: I shortened the headlights, body matched the grille, got rid of the hood and fender scoops, body colored the A-pillar and raised the windows to get rid of the roof wedge. I also smoothed out the body lines, too many creases. Attachment 215568 It's still ugly, the grille does nothing for me and the whole car looks awkward. |

Also, since it is a "Global" car, they had to take into consideration silly crash requirements from here as well as vehicle vs. pedestrian requirements world wide. |
How about a drive?

i think its a badass car, no doubt, the design will grow on everyone as you get more familiar with it, i think they did an outstandng job...providing all the stats are true...
offcourse id like to kill on at a track before i would consider buying one for myself, but the car is by no means ugly, its modern, this is where all cars are going, the edgy look with curves, you will get used to it |

god forbid cars are made with windows anymore. I'm sure if the designers had their way the windows would be a small slit maybe 1" tall. if i were design a car, it is a must that the elbow can rest on the window sill parallel to the ground. |
aawww man, the review from one "mazda/nissan" didn't show up telling some guy to stop slapping wings on suzuki aerio's :td:

Personally, I can't stand American car mags, most of them are written by baby-boomers who really should just retire and think the automotive world revolves around the U.S. and what exists on it's soil... Plus the content is usually pretty ill informed. I've only run across one article in the mags I get (EVO, CAR, and Top Gear) where they acted like a car was BRAND new and that was recent, EVO treated the Mazda CX-7 like it was a new thing with no mention of the CX-9. |
The official GTR website has the Tokyo Motor Show roll out of the new GTR beginning with an in car video of the GTR lapping hte Nordschleife in 7:38. That's not shabby at all.

I think it looks pretty good. Then again, I'm a fan of Bangle (hyper-controversial BMW designer, in case you don't know).
I also read that it makes its power at only 10psi... it ought to have some serious room for growth with an exhaust and an ECU. |

I was told there's a G35 rollin' around atlanta with a titan v8 swap.
|
if you're going to go to all that trouble, just build the g35 engine and slap a turbonetics kit on it.. might not be as fast, but it'll certainly be cheaper.
|
well, an ex-coworker of mine just ordered a GTR. I didn't get a chance to ask him about what options he's getting, or even the time frame. But I guess eventually I'll be letting you guys know how they drive.
The dude has been talking about getting a Masarati since I met him 4 or 5 years ago. Personally, I'd rather have the Masarati. Still, I'll give the GTR a chance to impress me. |
