Default Pinks All Out

The first episode of Pinks All Out 2008, a show on Speed channel, was filmed at my local strip today.
Over 400 cars ran iirc.
It was actually quite fun.
Saw a few sub 9 passes.
I think there were 5 imports the entire day.
Two turbo civics, a old porsche 911, a supra, and two Datsun 260z's with blown V8's.
The rest were all fox bodies, camaros, novas, chevelles, couple mopars.
Good races though.
I got a lot of pictures, but I wanted to show the size of the turbo on this 10 second civic hatch.

I don't know why he had the even bigger borg warner turbo just sitting on the engine but it was just sitting out in the pit like that...no one was around...with the hood open. I should of just grabbed it and ran!
But anyways, it was pretty fast to say the least.
I think I have a video of him running, but I need to check...
The event was fun, anyone else in san antonio go out and watch it?

that's one heck of a turbo for a motor that small. I wonder when it hits full boost?

btw, pics look fine on my 22" viewsonic at 1680x1050.

Best computer purchase EVER.

I still don't get why people watch that show. Personally I think its one of the gayest things on tv next to Pimp My Ride.

Seriously, please. Its not *REAL* racing, its a bunch of **** talking pussies crying about their vtak not working and "but you have nawwwwws..." Run what you brung, put up or shut the **** up. Thats REAL "street" racing.

I was at the San Antonio Raceway yesterday about 9:30a and didn't leave until after the final run at about 10p. - Folks were running hard all day.

There weren't many break downs, only one guy (in a '63 Vette split-window no less) bounced off the wall and few folks jumped once we moved from the tree to the arm drops. (Possibly a testiment to South-San street racing.)

There was only one 260Z, the other was an 8.8 second 240Z.

When they got to the final 16, the racing was close; one run was decided by 0.001 second. - I won't give more details because I don't want to spoil it for the folks who want to watch the show. (Projected play date is in July.)

The high-10 second Honda pictured above would have had a better day if he would learn to shift.

Well worth the price of admission. (Though they did gouge folks at the concessions...)

That's actually what the new "All-out" pinks is.

SPEED sucks of late anyways. Pretty much just going to watch F1 this season, almost nothing else of worth. Maybe a few other races if they show them.

l_bader - I thought they were both 260's, i guess not. I didn't stay the whole time either. Left around 5.
But I agree that it was well worth the admission. I got the half off coupon at NAPA though so it was 10 instead of 20.

Yeah this show is different from the original pinks...its all run what you brung racing. They pair them according to similar times, which makes for some really close races!

Im not a big fan of Rich either...
They made his wreck soo dramatic too!
