i was laid off in june and have been picking up short-term contracts since while still looking for a full-time position. unfortunately, i could not locate a decent job for what i do here in charlotte-area, despite our best wishes.

fortunately, i am being pursued aggressively with offers from companies in chicago and los angeles. the former is in the infancy of interviewing process, the latter has already offered an awesome salary + bonuses + performance-based annual raises + relocation + 401k (matching) + health care...without even meeting me, just based off two phone interviews and my portfolio. they are also flying my wife out with me for my interview and putting us up for the weekend so we can explore the area.

i hope one of these is the job i've been searching for some 5+ years now.
