Default So turbo the miata or...

buy parts for the NSX.

Long story short, my 10AE has been down for over a year now. I just got around to dropping a new engine into it. I've been driving it and it's been fun.

Then last night I took the NSX out again. First time in 5 days. While it's not fast it's a hell of a lot faster than the Miata.

So I can afford to buy **** for one of them but not both.

Opinions?

From anyone besides huslter?

Sell the NSX, buy a cheaper DD and build a bad *** Miata.

Here's my opinion, come up with an avatar and better info about yourself, like where you're from. Also, create a signature.
What year is this NSX? Post pictures of your car, or none of us believe that you own it.
Especially when you're a Newb that claims to have a 10AE and an NSX.

I can't get over how expensive the parts are for the NSX. They hold thier value fairly well, so if you aren't too attached to it, sell it. You can get twice the parts for the same price and ultimately enjoy it more. If that is not an option, just buy parts for the miata.

I Thought for a while about getting one, but when i looked at parts prices, I changed my mind. I spent my money in better places and built out my garage and added a lift.

You can pick up an NSX for as little as 25K.

You can buy a NSX for like 20 grand (rharris beat me...). If he'd said he had a Civic Si no one would be calling BS, so I see no reason to call BS on the NSX.

I think you just have to figure out what you want. For the price/performance, there's no way the NSX can be that much more fun to drive, but you're certainly going to look like a baller driving it. You've just got to figure out what you want. Do you want to look cool and spend money or do you want to look gay and be cheap?

25k is that it? I didn't realize you could get a 1992 NSX for that cheap...

The Miata is definitely more nimble, and honestly I've never driven a Miata with decent power.

The NSX does have a **** ton of body toll. I have a set of Zanardi springs and swaybar waiting to go on. I have a list of parts I'm ready to buy for the NSX and it's a seriously expensive list.

Oh and the NSX wasn't expensive. I purposely bought an older high mileage one so I could drive the **** out of it and not have to worry about it.

My thoughts currently on this are to continue modding the NSX and slowly start gathering turbo parts for the Miata. I have a couple of T25Gs sitting around so I might pick up a manifold kit and try to make something half decent.

If I were in your shoes... (nice shoes btw)

I'd probably be happy with mild modification, mostly suspension on the NSX. I've ridden in one...not lucky enough to drive...and those are great cars out of the box. I'd leave it alone. This may sound odd...but keep it as your DD.

The Miata is a LOT easier to transform into something far and above how they rolled out of Hiroshima. Power addition is relatively cheap and easy. Suspension and brake mods are well documented, reviewed and choices cheap and abundant.

And if you're DDing the baller car...you can track **** the Miata, although ripping the interior out of a 10AE will surely get you a warning, if not a temporary ban, on the other Miata forum.
