Phone Psychics? Still? Really?

But seriously, I doubt mystic stuff will go away in the next few centuries if ever. I read a neat book years ago set around 2100 or so. The big hubub was about the TOE or Theory Of Everything. The author really had some interesting notions about the future. For instance, there were 7 (yes, seven) recognized genders. The standard specs, but also super masculine males and super brainy males, and the equivalent females. Then there were asexual people too. It was pretty freaky as main stream Sci-Fi goes.
Anyway, there was a lot of trouble with thousands of protesting mystics who felt that the nature of the universe should be a magical secret and that actually creating/understanding/teaching a TOE would kill the human spirit.
I can totaly see tha being the way of things in 2100. ALternately, I can absolutely beleive that in the future mysticism and religion will be persecuted to the hilt. So who knows. But phone psychics will be around for as long as there are phones. Then they will make the jump to implanted sat-com rigs in your skull. Let madam zoulibabijulah take a tour around your hypocampus to determine where the anxiety stems from...and your SSN.
