That's my friend on rope, but I'm holding the camera. That is Stephens Gap, an open air pit and natural bridge in NE Alabama, Jackson County. One of the most beautiful places I've ever experienced, not just visually either. It's a good pit for non experienced people, since you can walk in and out of the pit via a side shaft that is wide open and pretty easy to climb with shattered rock pieces to scale. I'm wanting to say it's 164' from where we were rigged up, but it may be a little less, can't recall right off hand.

This is Neversink Pit, also in Jackson County AL. 162' depth, and if you catch it a few days after a good rain, the waterfalls pour in from all sides and shower you in mist at the bottom. Another amazing place.
