Heh. I feel bad for the guy, but I'm gonna laugh anyway.

Just proves that you should not ever ever ever bring your car to one of those chain shops.

Ouch.

I dropped a grand prix off a lift once, at tire-changing height. Racked it too far back and took off the rear tires. BAM!!

I bet they did the opposite, racked it too far forward.

17 page thread of "oh my god that SUCKS!!!"

Course it does suck. Makes me want to cry. Nobody cares about your car except you, and that really sucks.

heheh... that's why I love discount tire... they've always taken directions from me very well. If they drop my exige, someone is getting shot.

I myself am a tire tech. The whole "tire techs are retarded" thing is offensive to me. I take ALOT of pride in my job and the work I do to customer cars. However, I completely understand it. I would never leave my miata in a tire techs hands. The sad part is most techs really don't care about your car. Most common thing I see people doing in my tire chain is running the lugnuts on with strait impact. WAY overtourqing (sp?) them.

I'm AMAZED this guy didn't stick around. I'm usually watched like a hawk by the owners of high end cars. I've never worked on a lotus, but most cars of that style have obvious lift points. The guy who lifted it most likely didn't rock the car on the hoist while at knee hight like your supposed to do. If all is done proper, you should never have a car fall off. If you have ever worked on a properly lifted car, they are very safe up there.
