Default Unbelievable!!! My 1997 Mazda Miata with 136,000 miles, sold in 15 minutes...

This afternoon I just sold my 1997 Mazda Miata with 136,000 miles. This is absolutely been crazy, I detailed the car, parked it in front of a local business in my town, and on my way home, I got a phone call, u-turned back around. He test drove my car (I was asking 5,500 dollars for it), came back and asked if I would take 5,250 for it. I took his offer and we went right to the bank, 5,250, bill of sale, and title...

Wow... I put the car up for sale, sold in less than an hour...

It's really funny, considering that all my Union buddies that I work with claim that, "you will not be able to give that Asian peace of **** away..."

You see, its a repressed feeling for them, because deep down inside, when they see that hot asian import, they want to reach out and touch it, take it to their locals, drive it and take pride in it, but they are regulated by the ideology of buy cheap *** american cars (particulary that horrible step-child I call, the Ford Mustang) ....even if they depreciate 50% off the lot.

I just wrote a poem, in remembrance of the Lor...I mean Miata.

Goodbye to my 1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata.

Like a light that shined through the darkest of clouds...

Like the Son who arrived from the heavens...

Did my 1997 Mazda Miata come to me in the most troubling of times...

It refreshed my soul with sensations of Jinba Ittai...

And its Kansai Engineering, revived me through handling dynamics...

In the midst of bland, tasteless American Muscle Cars...

Particularly Mustang GT...

The Mazda Miata provided a bridge of automotive salvation to my soul...

It drove, brighter than the brightest star...

It's love, was greater than what the world could afford...

But now it has been sold, to spread the message to every tongue, every tribe...

And once again, the ransom has been paid...

The Sin of American V8, forgiving for those who believe in Miata...

That does not surprise me at all.

Congratulations on the sale.

Yeah, maybe a haiku would have been a little less gay. Or at the very least it would have been shorter.

******* Unions, LOL...

I'm an IBEW Electrician out of 558, you just kinda gotta look past the bad ones. Nah, most Union workers frankly either don't care anymore, or they already drive a Toyota (Toyota is one of the biggest employers of Union Labor in the U.S, they won't deal with UAW and thats no suprise, but our toyota engine plant in Huntsville was built entirely Union)

Don't get me wrong, i'm a moderate when it comes to Organized labor. I believe its a good thing, but that's in moderation. For example, nobody wants Authoritarian Capitolism like China, but nobody wants a massive labor cartel like UAW had in the 60-70's, cartels and monopolies hurt competition and the free market suffers...

I joined the apprenticeship program because history proves that the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee programs offered through the Unions and Companies have produce very qualified and skilled labor, plus I get 32 college credit hours towards an engineering degree at Middle Tennessee University. I don't regret it being in it...

For example, the fed gov employees have unions, which stick their noses in a lot of background investigation situations. The unions generally then offer the applicant/employee terrible advice (ie. don't answer that question about your parents being boring in Iraq or some misdemeanor you had years ago), which can lead to the applicant/employee losing their job because they did not have "open disclosure".

I guess the take away is this:
1> If your in a union, make sure they actually know what they are talking about
2> This thread is ******* ghey and belongs on m.net

I agree completely!

I wonder if their reaction will differ from ours.

Sorry Cody, I know we are all busting your ***** on this, but really, what did you expect posting a poem here? It's kind of what we do.

and I always wondered where the gay stereotype for miata owners came from....

1) Spank your union buddies Mustang GT with your Miata...Not Gay
2) Write a poem about your Miata...GAY

Please tell me you weren't wearing a mesh tank top while writing this poem and that your Miata didn't have a rainbow bumper sticker...
