Silver car, white top, what to do

The finish on the top is pretty nice, and it is almost a crime to respray it. The car has already been resprayed once. It's darker than silverstone and has metal flakes, kind of like a metallic gray. The side sills are painted black.

If I spray the top gray to match my car, it's a custom paint color so the top would be worthless if I need to flip it. If I spray the top black, it will look good on pretty much any car as a contrasting color, but will not match mine. Or I could paint everything at once if I can sell enough blood to pay for it.

Or, do you think it looks OK as it is.

 

I think Miatas can look pretty badass when the top and windshield frame are black.

 

Good call. I don't think I can edit the poll, so I'd like to add in option 5: Paint hard top and a pillars black, as well as repaint lower side sills black

 

I think it looks ok now, but if you paint it I would paint it black. You can always flip a black hardtop (and if you vinyl or paint the pillars, that would look bada$$).

 

paint it black. paint or vinyl cover the windshield frame black, tint the windows.

 

Black with black pillars and a carbon fiber hood and trunk deck.

 

I've got a Silver with a Black hard top and it looks good.
Gawd I wouldn't like to have a white hard top on it, I'd go around topless before I'd do that !
Perhaps your concentrating on how good the 'finish' is on the hard top to much and not seeing the car completly with it on ?

Man I was about 30 minutes from buying that top. It was only a 80 mile drive for me to get and it was a decent price for a good top with defroster and all. I too have a silver miata(NB). I've seen one same as mine with a white top and I would have left it just for the sake of cost. Atleast for a while. I'm with everyone else on going black. You'll end up having a car that fits in with the drifting crowd with that paint scheme but hey im 20 and think it's pretty badass looking. (Though not into drifting.)
