Paint Opinions Requested!!

Just picked up my miata a few weeks ago and am having mixed feelings on the paint. On one hand, I think the large solid black stripe sets the car apart from others and gives it a mean look, but on the other hand, I think it may be over the top and may draw too much un-intentional attention if you know what I mean. Anyways, I would love to hear some other input....FWIW my fiance hates it, but eh, she can deal with it if I decide to keep it, lol!
Leave it , go all white, or....... Attachment 207192 Attachment 207193 Attachment 207194 |
The front looks better than the back IMO

paint the intercooler black and rock it as is. I likey!
|
Leave it as is, but hit the white parts behind the bumper mouth with some black paint so they don't stand out.
|
I like the stripe, but my opinion is biased.

I like it better with the stripe not going all the way down. Stop it on the hood or upper front bumper and on the trunk lid. I also like the border detail. Not exact, but just a VERY rough idea of what I mean.

all white.
|
I like what NA6C did, but without the white trim line, and all the way down to the air opening. On the back just stop at the middle brake light.
|
Easy..... Paint the R-lip black to go with black on the rockers. Keeps the front from looking bulbous.
Paint the window frame black. If stickers and "race" trim are staying, then the black center stripe is well justified. Just my opinion....still a nice looker as it is. ;) Edit **** And black out the intercooler as well. |
If it's a daily driver, I like the stripe that stops short of the front bumper or...
If I ever get a white Miata I'm going with the red and blue stripes from the Martini livery. http://static.zoovy.com/img/weberpla...4martini32.jpg |

If I ever get a white Miata I'm going with the red and blue stripes from the Martini livery. http://static.zoovy.com/img/weberpla...4martini32.jpg I used to build model cars, and that was one of my faves. The decals looked so odd in the box, but after you wetted them and rolled them onto the wheel wells and hood they came to life. |
the stripe is too wide and makes the apperance unbalanced.
|
Tint the tails in the back and call it a day...
|
Thanks for all the responses guys....can one of you photoshop gurus chop one of my pics and make the intercooler black, one with the R lip painted black, (and maybe one with the tails smoked...contiplating that)...I'm thinking some of you guys may be right on painting the IC / R lip though, just curious to see what it'll look like....keep the opinions comin!!

I would without a doubt take off all the stickers first and foremost. Then get a clean coat of white, redo the black stripe, clean up the opening in the bumper, then stealth the IC (I wouldn't paint the IC, but I like showing it).
I agree about the rockers. Either paint them white to match or black the front lip. I like the look, just needs to be cleaned up IMO. |
